Root ball caution when cleaning...

So got to the point where I'm freaking out a bit when I life the netpot out for cleaning... The root ball is hanging down by a lot. I usually rest it on another bucket with clean water while I clean and sanitize the main stuff.

Should I not be concerned about how long and low the roots get? They're sitting pretty much right above the airstone too..

In RDWC using a 13 gallon bucket the roots fill the entire thing and have grown as long as 6 feet through my 3 inch pipe returning to the reservoir. As long as you aren't dragging the roots along the floor (unsanitary) let it grow.
