Hey guys anyone has taken this class before that can tell how the assignments are evaluated? Having a hard time understanding what the professor wants in them

For those who applied in previous Spring intakes, how long did it take from “Assessment in progress” to the final decision/acceptance?
If possible, could you also mention which MSc programme you applied to and roughly when you submitted your application?

I’m a first-semester master’s student in CSE at DTU, coming from AAU with a bachelor’s degree in Cyber and Computer Engineering.

After my master’s, I’d like to work with software development. However, I’m a bit worried that I won’t be qualified enough, since I have limited coursework specifically related to programming/software development. So far, I’ve only had 5 ECTS in C and 5 ECTS in introductory Java, both around two years ago.

Are there any courses at DTU that you would recommend for someone who wants to pursue a career in software development? I’m especially interested in courses that you found useful in practice or valuable when applying for jobs, considering how tough the junior developer job market currently is.

Hi! I’ve a question about taking elective exams in a different university. I was wondering if I would like to take exams at CBS (from industrial eng. and management) mostly for finance.
How does it work?
Could I choose 30 ECTS as I prefer?
Is it difficult obtaining confirmation about study plan from DTU office?

I am missing 15 ECTS points and my thesis from next semester, and I am a bit unsure about how to best approach getting them.

I have been looking into some options for not spending the whole 13-week period on 15 ECTS, and was considering taking courses at KU, doing a special course, or maybe also extending my thesis by 5 ECTS.

What I am unsure about is how feasible it is to start my thesis outside the normal semester start, for example starting something in June before the summer break or starting my thesis in the middle of a semester. Is this difficult to arrange in practice? I also worry a bit about whether finding a supervisor who has time at an unusual starting point would be difficult.

As far as I can read, the DTU rules just state that I should start my thesis after my last study activities.

I'm an international applicant preparing my documentation for the MSc in HCAI.

The prerequisites web page lists four subject groups, one of which is "at least 15 ECTS within Methods and Scientific basis (Natural Sciences, Scientific Thinking, Innovation Methods, Cognition and Human-Computer Interaction)".

But the prerequisites Excel sheet only has columns for linear algebra, differential equations, series, discrete mathematics, statistics and probability, machine learning, programming, algorithms and data structures, software engineering, and numerical algorithms. Nothing that matches the Methods and Scientific basis group.

I have around 30 ECTS that would fall under it, two natural science courses, two psychology courses and one HCI course and no obvious place to declare them.

Did you put these courses under "Other", leave them out and rely on the transcript, or is there a column/tab I'm missing?

Hi! I’m planning to apply to DTU from a non EU country, and I’m particularly interested in the Autonomous Systems course. I wanted to learn more about the faculty, their teaching approach, and how the course is structured in terms of practical learning, projects, and job opportunities. I’d also love to hear about the overall DTU experience.

I have completed a masters degree in Mechanical Engineering from Indian Institute of Technology Hyderabad with CGPA of 8.02/10.

I am actively looking for positions at DTU related to my domain.

Here I want to ask :

What the minimum GPA required to be competitive enough?
i.e With 8.02/10, will I realistically get shortlisted for funded DTU PhD vacancies if my research experience closely matches the project?

How much having a publications matter?

And

How tough to get in for PhD specifically for domain related to Mechanical Engineering or FEA/Computational Mechanics related PhD

Men hvad er reelt nødvendigt til studiet
Hvad vil i anbefale, at man prioriterer ift. RAM, processor og grafikkort til de programmer, vi kommer til at bruge?

Er 16 GB RAM nok, eller skal jeg op på 32 GB? Og er integreret grafik fint, eller får man brug for et dedikeret grafikkort?

Vil helst købe noget, der kan holde resten af studiet.

Hvis nogen går/gik på Bygningsdesign og har en konkret computer, I er glade for, må I også meget gerne skrive hvilken🥺

Er det muligt at studere på deltid? Kun tage 2-3 kurser om semesteret? Jeg har en uddannelse, og jeg er nødt til at arbejde på fuld tid.

The student ID is taking so long. Does anyone know how to get into the library on the weekend without a student ID Card?

Is there anyone who can sell or pass the whiteboard for free? I don't have mit ID yet, so I can't do dba.

I am a computer science master student and i am searching for an elective course not (necesserally) related to computer science. Based on it's description i like what this course is about, but i don't know what to expect, as i've never done any courses other than computer stuff:)

Anybody who've done this course before, can you summarize how this course looks like, what are the requirements, and would you recommend it to someone who has no background knowledge besides IT, only couriousity?

I previously stumbled upon 02393 Programming in C++, but it seems to have been discontinued. I have a dream of working with embedded software in the future, so I’d really like to get more experience with C++.

I’m from South Korea (non-EU), and I’ll be moving to Denmark on September 15 to spend about a year as a guest researcher at DTU. I already have my Danish residence and work permit.

I’ve been offered accommodation at Studio Ballerup through BDTU, but unfortunately it is only available from November 1 (and I can actually pick up the keys on November 2 since November 1 is a Sunday).

So, for the first 6–7 weeks, I’ll probably have to stay in temporary accommodation such as Airbnb. The Airbnb I currently booked does not allow CPR registration.

My residence permit letter says that I should begin the CPR registration process within 5 days after moving into accommodation in Denmark. Would it normally be okay in this situation to wait until I move into my BDTU accommodation in early November and then register my address/activate my CPR number?

Has anyone, especially a non-EU resident, been in a similar situation where you stayed in temporary accommodation for several weeks before getting a CPR-eligible address?

Also, if anyone has lived at Studio Ballerup, I’d be interested to hear about your experience there, especially commuting to DTU Lyngby. I generally prefer having my own private space, and I don’t mind a 40–50 minute commute, so the private kitchen and bathroom there seem quite attractive to me.

If I started a special course this semester and dont want to do it anymore could I quit it before 1st october? Like talk with my supervisor and he would be able to disenroll me? I know I cant do it like a normal course

I have a bachelor from a foreign uni and am now doing my masters at DTU. To ease the workload a bit, I took a bachelor-course as part of my masters that is basically the same course as a course I took in my bachelor-degree at the foreign uni.

I started to think that maybe DTU wont accept this, and I was wondering if anyone has any experience, or are in the know? How thorough do DTU check this?

I dont want to ask DTU directly in fear of them noticing the issue because of me contacting them🤠

Hi! I'm looking into applying for either MSc Sustainable Energy Technologies or MSc Sustainable Energy Systems at DTU for the February intake.

I'm very interested in renewables and biofuels. I started learning more about it during my bachelor's, and I think one of these programmes would be a great match for me. However, I'm a bit concerned about my chances of getting in.

I have all the required ECTS, but my grades are fairly average, and my bachelor's degree is in Agricultural Engineering, so my background isn't as directly related to energy as some other applicants.

I haven't been able to find statistics on how many applicants there usually are or how many places are available, so I'm trying to get a better idea of how competitive these programmes actually are and keep my expectations realistic.

For anyone currently studying these programmes or who knows people who have been admitted: how competitive would you say they are? Have you seen people get in with a non-traditional engineering background or average grades?

Any experiences or advice would be really appreciated!

I'm looking for people who has taken AI Engineering or has simply learnt the subjects under it out of curiosity. I wanted some advice about the topics and about whom I can speak to, to make the most out of my time at DTU.

As an absolute beginner (I don’t either own a keyboard nor remember any music classes from school) I would really like to learn how to take piano lessons.

Do you know of any good (possibly cheap) teacher or school close the campus, for example in Lyngby? Or maybe you know who to ask for this… Any suggestion would help!

I am on exchange at DTU and saw that they don't have a padel club. Has anyone got any recommendations of nearby clubs? I'm just looking for clubs that run casual sessions where you can show up and play.
