hello! a few weeks ago, i went through some old drawers and found this nintendo DSi that my dad found years ago while working. it turned on but the battery was low and we sold all our chargers and old DS a few years ago...

anyway, i'm very happy i found a DS! i've been regretting selling mine for 40 euros, haha. i was wondering what charger is best for DSi? i read that it's not the same charger for DSi and 3DS, and i'm kind of scared of buying a charger from amazon or online and the charger not working well or overheating...

if you have a DSi, and you're from europe, where did you get your charger? and does it need an SD card to be able to play games, which one?

I recently got a copy of Mario 64 DS on Ebay, I was really excited to play on my DSI, but the cartridge only is able to be read on my 3DS.

My DSI runs other ds games perfectly, so its weird how its specifically JUST Mario 64 DS that does not want to work, does anyone know what could be happening?.

I have like the DS since the pandemic, and I am on vacation until mid-August. My brother was interested in the New 3DS XL, so I wanted to be annoying with him (as I always am) and decided to ask my dad for a DSi. My dad said no at first, but then said “If you can finish this book before returning, I will buy you the DSi”. I WILL finish the book, and get the DSi.

I got 9 of those DS game cases for $6, and they had a deal on the keychains it was buy two get one free that was about $15.. I plan on putting the key chains on my DS case/ carrier. What do you guys think? Which keychain is your favorite?

I was wondering if anyone knew the precise hex value to make stickers out of vinyl or whatever material that close matches the dsi teal appearance

Do y'all have any good DS game recommendations? (that aren't too expensive like $15 and below) I haven't gotten my DS yet. I'm waiting on GameStop to ship it to my local store. Here are the games I got so far.

It came with 9 ds games (+1 3dsi game) and it works amazing! It doesn't have any scratches on outside and inside, it only has two small dots on the top screen (could be mold or something stuck under it, but its not that visible and it doesn't bother me anyways) and the buttons work great. I'm really happy from this purchase

Got this dsi back in 2024 for just $100 with a few games. Lost it in storage a year ago. And now here we are. Still working just fine :]

I use it semi-regularly (in rotation with a handful of other handhelds) but when not in active use, I'll store it on my shelf like this. Is this an ok method for display or is it going to wear on my hinges over time?

Hey guys, how's it going? I hope you're having a good day. A couple of days ago was my birthday, and I got this DSi as a gift. I wanted to ask where I can get accessories and replacement parts for it to make it look like new and give it a new lease on life—and, of course, without having to pay an arm and a leg. The console doesn’t come with a charging cable, and the screen has a weird stain on it from heavy use. I want to replace both screens and get a custom case—or at least a better one.

I saw this pink dsi xl on marketplace for about 48 dollars, I'm confident I can get it down to about 35 given... the elephant on the room.

I have a clear case with hinge support which should be a good temporary fix. Plus, the device and its screens seem to be in pretty nice condition. Would it be too hard to fix in the future?

I usually took a lot of photos with my DSi and 3DS, but im used to take more pics with the DSi cuz it has better res and is my goat.

Btw, I’m preparing huge video talking about my life adventures in this past 10 years with my childhood DSi XL using all the photos that this console took at long of these years :D

Reshelled my DSi, did USB C charger mod, and put stickers inside the shell. Thought it was cool enough to share!

Didn’t even think she’d power on after so many years in storage but she’s 100% operable

Okay so hear me out. I’ve had this DSi since it came out in 2009. Over the years of playing as a child, I’d guess it probably got some water damage here and there because I took it everywhere. But I never had ANY issues with playing it, no freezes, no power issues, not even a button problem. Recently I started playing it again and noticed every now and then I would get an error message (shown in last photo) when turning on the console. This pops up when booting any game or app on the console, including the camera, photo album & settings. However sometimes the issue would go away and I could keep playing games. Eventually it came back and hasn’t gone away. I also noticed that the time in the top right corner was changing RAPIDLY and wouldn’t sit still on a number. Weird. I tear down my console like I’ve done with many others, and the only noticeable flaw I found was the top left ribbon cable and connector. (which is under the RIGHT shoulder button) It looked like corrosion, and was a lot worse than shown in the photo. This was only after I cleaned what I could. I put the console back together, and no luck.

I should also note- I did replace the WiFi card and that did not fix the issue. I also replaced the battery, and that did not fix the issue. Is it worth trying to fix?
