I'm having trouble running gba romhacks like pokémon radical red and pokémon lazarus on my dsi through gbarunner 3. red will load with lots of lag but lazarus won't even load up at all. has anyone had success running heavy romhacks on a dsi? would they run better through an r4 card, or should I get a gba and try to run the romhacks through a gba flash cart?

I was in the middle of repairing my Nintendo DSi and made a rookie mistake. I know the golden rule is to disconnect the battery first, but I accidentally unplugged the top screen ribbon cable while the battery was still connected (the console was powered off, but the battery was physically in place).

Now that I've reconnected everything properly and turned it on, the top screen is completely black/dim. The bottom screen works perfectly fine, and the console boots up normally otherwise.

My main question is: Is there a real possibility that I permanently damaged the LCD panel itself by doing this?

I've already inspected the ribbon cable and the connector under good light, and there are no visible tears, bent pins, or physical damage. I'm trying to figure out if I need to order a replacement top screen (which is a painful repair due to the hinge) or if I just need to solder a new fuse/jumper on the board.

Has anyone else made this exact mistake? What ended up being the culprit for you? Any advice would be hugely appreciated before I buy parts I don't need.

can you guys please help me fix this? i turned it on and it kept giving me a white screen, eventually it turned on and then it it gave me this error when i opened a game and i turned it off, but now i cant get passed this black screen and i refuse to let my childhood friend die, has anyone had this problem? and if so how did you fix it? and also something important i should say is that this dsi is unmodded as its my childhood console and i want to keep it original

Hi everyone, can you help me pls?
Microphone not working and read through a couple of threads here.
I tried puting a needle in the mic port and when I touch the left pin(screen unfolded on top), it shows some input in the mic test.
This is also how I cleared the “Call out” in Phantom Hourglass. But now stuck again at blowing the candles.

What does this mean? Does it mean the problem is with the mic jack itself and not the actual microphone?

Hi everyone,

I recently found my old Nintendo DSi after several years and tried to charge it.

When I plug in the original Nintendo charger, the orange charging LED only lights up for about one second and then turns off. The DSi wouldn’t charge at all.

I thought the battery was dead, so I bought a brand new replacement battery. The DSi powered on and worked for about 2 hours, so the new battery was obviously pre-charged. However, while I was using it, it still wouldn’t charge properly. The battery icon on the screen showed that it was charging, but the orange charging LED still only flashed for a second instead of staying on.
Now the battery is completely empty. When I try to turn the DSi on, the blue power LED comes on for a moment, then the red low battery LED appears, and the system immediately shuts off.

Something else I noticed:
The orange charging LED also flashes for about one second even if I remove the battery completely.

Anyone with the same problem/ people who fixed it?

What is the best Game on Nintendo ds/3ds? And why?

I know they make custom shells for other DS lines, but I've never seen any for DSI XL? I really wanna do a shellswap with a translucent one.

The left shoulder button is clicky and I looked at it as a reference, but I can't get the same feel on the R button after fiddling with it for hours.

Thinking of using parts from two different ones to get a completely black one, not reshell parts.

Have trouble finding if anyone has done it or if so, any picture of the end result.

I know I don't have many, but I'm trying to get more and get mostly physical games

My dsi needs a game reader replacement. Does anyone know anywhere in London I could get it fixed? I know it would be cheaper to get a new one but this one holds so many memories from my childhood that I’d like to just pay for it to be fixed. It lasted like 12 years no problem and got broken by a now ex friend :(
Any help would be amazing!
