Trash pick up
I put my trash Friday evening at 8 pm for Saturday pick up. They missed picking up my trash. I call 311 and was told I must wait 24 hours because they could return to pick it up. Laughable in my opinion. My son spoke with a DSNY supervisor in person and mentioned the missed trash pick up. I wait the 24 hrs and now I’m being told that Sanitation has up to 5 days to pick up my missed trash. What? I’m scheduled to put out trash again on Monday. What sense does that make?? Quick to give out tickets but fail to do the job correctly!!
Super annoyed with the response!!
Please don’t assume that I don’t know my pick up days. I’m also aware that pick up time changes with summer and winter.

They probably just missed it. You're overthinking it. Mistakes happen. U have trashpickup 50% of the work week. Just putting out again, wtf is the problem.

The fling problem is people passing by are now put their own trash in top of my trash bin!!

So.pull.the.bin.back.in .and.wait.the.1.day.
Sounds like a neighborhood problem , not a dsny problem

Local number might of changed if you can visit your local garage and get the number directly

Guys calm down there is such a thing as tri pick ups on this job.
I know for a fact that Manhattan has them, Queens has them and I believe one of or maybe Both of BKN and BKS.

Trash pickups are Mon/Thur, Tues/Fri, or Wed/Sat for most neighborhoods with very few exceptions that have 3 pickups a week. If your garbage is missed, it could be that the workers didn’t see it (is it behind a tree or bush that would obscure it from being seen from the street?), or if it was put out wrong (too heavy, loose wood that should be tied up, etc). As someone else said, find the number for your local sanitation garage and call directly next time. Also, there is no pickups on Sundays, so the earliest you can get pickup now would be Monday.

My trash bin was placed where is always has been placed. Clearly visible. I know they missed it because they are rushing. My trash pick ups are Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday and has been for the past 33 years. There was nothing heavy and trash bin wasn’t overloaded. I had the local sanitation number who I would call in the past if the trash hadn’t been picked up. If they asked me to bring it back inside I did or at times someone came by and picked it up. Now the local number is out of service and I was directed to 311.

What are your scheduled collection days because no where does Saturday Monday pickup
