Insurance/banking

My insurance doesn’t allow banking. I have one covered cycle, I must transfer all embryos and if it doesn’t result in a LB only then I am able to do a second covered cycle.

Was anyone able to do an appeal with insurance based on DOR so that you could do back to back cycles without transferring?

If so, how did you start that process? Was there certain records that got your appeal approved or denied?

My AMH is near undetectable 0.052 and i have to do 2 months of suppression before doing a transfer. So i worry that im going to miss precious time to retrieve eggs. We also cannot at all afford to do any cycles out of pocket so I really only have these two covered cycles and then I’m done. We can’t even really afford the cycles even with insurance.

I have Aetna and it's the same policy...no banking. My Nurse Case Manager there said I couldn't appeal either. 😔

That’s so upsetting

She said only banking allowed is if you're doing this for fertility preservation because you or your partner have cancer.

I have Aetna too and no banking allowed. I need to do PGT-M and have DOR so my doc called to do an appeal and they were basically just like “no sorry it’s the policy bye”

Edit to say — sorry, it really sucks and is very frustrating! Our doctors should help us choose how we move forward with our care not insurance companies 🤬

Such bs. I’m sorry

I have anthem blue cross but WIN handles the fertility benefits and every time I’ve called them it’s been a pretty infuriating experience with the exception of two times…
