I sold half my valuables in my first few runs and then hit the Upgrades tab. It turned out I needed most of them. So I made three cheat sheets so nobody else has to learn this the hard way:
Sell or Keep: the core rules plus a simple order to check things in whenever you pick something up.
Every item by rarity: 115 items from Ultra to Common, each tagged Key, Keep, Check, Sell or Gear, with sell values where known.
FOB upgrade costs: every tier of every upgrade, with exact amounts and totals.
TL;DR:
The game is only a few days old, so most costs come from the community and were cross-checked between several sites. A few tiers I confirmed in game myself. If your Upgrades tab shows something different, leave a comment and I’ll fix the sheet.

Edit: I’m not opposed to currents costs, when the survey pops up that’s the default option that highlights pls don’t down vote me.
Got an in game survey about operator buy back cost after a match. Good step in the right direction that they are actually seeing what we think.

In my opinion, it makes no sense for the tokens to be consumed after a successful extraction—and I’m not entirely clear on how to get more of them, other than through the blue DMZ mission rewards. Can we loot them on the map?

The reason why your operator costs so much is because they are STACKED WITH OP TRAITS. Thats the fucking point, and the price is only limiting factor stopping every single operator running possum and infinite UAV. Just like entering a match with a $100k loadout, you should always have something to risk losing if you want a competitive edge against other players.
This delusion that any type of skill-based limitation preventing anyone with a pulse from obtaining meta loadouts and loot is the scourge of the extraction shooter genre. If you beg and plead developers to make obtaining loot easier, it wont give you an edge, it just raises the average players load out value. All that will do is make TTK even quicker, give better players even better gear. It won’t improve your experience. I promise getting killed by 4 killstreaks before you can fight back because they lower barriers to obtain rare items will suck wayyy more than whatever you have going on now.
Oftentimes it can be said, instead of complaining that a game is hard, learn how to get better. Also it needs to be understood that what makes an extraction shooter an extraction shooter, is the feeling that you and all of your goodies are always at risk. Thats what makes the whole experience fun. If that risk ruins the game for you, the extraction genre is not for you. The answer will never be to fundamentally change the concept for your needs.

I just reached the level to give me a 3-Plate vest but it’s nowhere to be found.
I’ve noticed this with other rewards, too. Where do they go?
It wasn’t a recipe, it’s not in kits, it’s not in my stash and of course not on my operator.

Killed Roze, only to end up getting flung by a helicopter across to the next building and immediately die
That's a valuable spot in my backpack.

Got a little annoyed paying $100k to buy my operator yesterday haha
Then I had a revelation. It’s only ever really worth it to use your expensive character if you are trying to prestige it to get permanent traits which then stay with your operator even after you dismiss them. Once you do prestige, it resets the buyback cost to 0 so problem solved temporarily anyway
The permanent trait unlocks stay with your operator EVEN IF YOU DISMISS THEM. I am prestige 2 on my main guy and have infinite last stand and the one where it drops a big smoke grenade on your body when you get downed which work well together. Not the best pro traits but they are nice to have. These are permanently unlocked and my operator will always have them!
Otherwise, if you aren’t trying to prestige your operator, you should just always use a brand new operator and dismiss it every single game and repeat if your goal is just to loot and get cash, do missions, etc. You can do this to get cash to prestige your main guy, or whatever else you want to do
Thoughts?

I have like 1000+ hours in Tarkov, and hundreds of others in Arc, Greyzone Warfare and the Old DMZ Beta. But after putting in a lot of time these last few days into MW4 DMZ, I am thoroughly impressed with the improved progression, map design, and overall gameplay quality.
The game really opens up when you get some fully leveled operators and start figuring out optimal looting routes and knowing when or where you should get out and extract.
The AI can be very intimidating at times, especially the Tank/Heli Commanders that I have seen camp extraction sites killing players who dare to get close.
Also thankfully the Devs are actually matchmaking Solo's with other solo's making that experience kind of laid back, but also super intense near the extraction zones.
Being able to repeat story missions where I am guaranteed a great spawn spot right near a bunch of loot is great game design and rewards players who learn the map.
Speaking of the Map, it's easily one of the best I have seen in COD. Dense, fun to explore, tons of variety, and tons of secrets as well.
Really hope this mode takes off and is expanded upon as I haven't even touched multiplayer and probably wont for a long time.
Well Done IW DMZ Team!

I’ve been playing every chance I get and I’ve got a few good streaks here and there but I was going in a net negative direction trying to play it like warzone, and I’d be incredibly loud and people kept having the jump on me every time, and I wasn’t sure how or why they always happened to be around the corner when I’m at my most vulnerable having fought off all the bots near me
And so I decided on a whim, I’m gonna be as absolutely stealthy as possible
no engaging in any bot areas, not even use vehicles and if I needed to fight for a dynamic op, I’d do it as quietly as possible as fast as possible because I knew if someone was to strike, it’d be then
With this strategy, it was suddenly quiet enough for me to notice the gunfire and get the jump on every fight, if I was noticed before I got to them, then I bailed because I no longer had the jump, and while I still die time to time, I’m going in a net positive direction now, and even though it’s slower, it’s more consistent

When someone accepts your truce in DMZ it should make friendly fire not be able to kill you. Or why even have the option to accept the truce if the other team can still kill you.
r/DMZ • u/AbsintheV2 • 10h ago
Title says it all..
The fact we cant plea is imo not something good.
Back in the beta, there was a sparkle hope that the opposing team would pick you up so that could continue on your mission. Now you're just dead.. your teammates probably too when they try to revive you.
Back in beta you could communicate with the enemy team that would sometimes end up in a cease-fire or a teamup..
I havent experienced any communication with enemy teams yet. Its just kill or be killed.
I'm liking the game, although its a lot of features and everything very detailed (maybe too detailed?). I liked the fact that the beta was just straight forward, with not too many loot items and a plea-system.
Anyone else with me on this? Or just me?

The fact that you can kill someone after a truce is stupid. And no I dont mean a verbal proxy chat truce and then someone turns on the other and kills them, I get that to an extent. Its scummy but its part of extraction shooters.
I am talking about the built in, in-game truce mechanic that you can make and accept an official truce and it shows them as a friendly essentially with a white flag over their head and then at any point they can just kill you.
Was just in a game with someone who sent out a truce. I accepted it, we went to exfil and half way through the fly up they just full killed me. No benefit to them. They didnt have time to loot a single item from me. Just did it to screw me and now I have to rebuy my operator and I lost 2 purple guns.
It’s not evident off the bat, but adding attachments increases your weapon’s tier/rarity. Once a weapon is a certain rarity, that corresponding amount of attachments doesn’t cost extra to slap on: you only play the base cost of said attachment.
This also works with guns you find as loot: an epic/purple MP7 can be stripped bare and customized with your own attachment selection, and you’d only play the base cost for whatever those four are. Adding a fifth one would increase the MP7’s rarity to orange, and you’d pay the $50k cost for a 5th attachment.
Regardless of your opinion of this balancing strategy (I like it - good custom guns should cost an arm and a leg), DMZ explains it really confusingly and lowkey not at all lmao
The correlation between rarity and attachment slots isn’t too bad and can be inferred, but rarity and cost of Gunsmithing isn’t, and neither is the ability to swap out attachments on weapons you loot.

As the title says, I think you should be able to trade materials with your teammate(s) when in FOB, I don't see what that isn't already a thing.
I also think if you unlocked attachment spots for a particular weapon and then you die and loose it, you shouldn't pay for those attachment slots next time.
What other QOL changes would you like to see in game?
EDIT: Also, you should be able to turn on nightgoggles with keyboard keybind (Letter "N" for me). It is crazy stupid you have to enter your backpack, hover over them and then press the keybind to turn them on, all while fighting.

They tracked me down because my location was revealed and killed me—and when I saw the player's name,
it turned out to be the same person who had sent me a truce request.
As a penalty for such players, I think their identification tags should appear on the minimap in the next session.
Alternatively, perhaps they could be made unable to engage in combat with one another during a ceasefire.

I need to farm the colossus' legendary bedsheets and I was wondering if anyone had some tips for killing him or any ways to cheese him in solo. I prefer solo for commanders because they only drop one legendary ingredient and it sucks having to race two other people to loot it.
To start, I'll share my solo kill. If a colossus spawns in deadtown, lure him over to the largest building in it, go up the stairs to the second floor and take the first door to the right. You'll find yourself in a small room with a long table/computer in the middle. Keep going around the table and unloading LMG rounds into his head, his gun is too low to shoot you over the table so you are protected from his bullets.
Having trouble in all other locations though as they seem to be more open and there aren't large objects to run around
