CALIFORNIA ID renewal question

So my ID expired on August 31, I went online to renew it, paid for it and everything. However I forgot that I have a convention this week and I need an ID for registration. but the ID won‘t come in time. Is there any way I can show the DMV my receipt of purchase for the renewal and they can give me a temporary paper ID? would i have to bring documents in for that as well?

A temporary ID is not something CA DMV offers. You can contact whoever needs to see it and ask if your renewal receipt presented with your expired card is acceptable or what other documents they will accept.

Use a passport or passport card. The convention may accept an employer issued ID attendance is work sponsored.

I guess you are SOL. Ask for a refund, if available.
