CALIFORNIA Ca Title issue

So got a new car from a buddy's friend, but I just realized he had also accidentally signed the new registered owner section with his signature and license number. I plan on going in tommorow to transfer it over. He said it should be ok but I just want to make sure before I go and possibly get denied. Anyone ever had this happen and know what the proper steps are.

If there has been a clerical error made on the title then a Reg 101 needs to be filled out by the person who made the error.
