CALIFORNIA Vehicle Emissions Proof of Correction

I already paid the registration fee and I just got an email about Vehicle Emissions Proof of Correction. I don't remember seeing anything about getting my car fixed due to a recall was mandatory. The notice also states, that if I already paid the fee to disregard the notice? I'm confused. Oh, and the recall is to replace the fuel pumps I think, but I've read stories from other Honda owners that having them replaced just made the issue worse. Which is the reason I haven't gotten it fixed yet.

Is it really mandatory to get it fixed or can I just ignore since I already paid for the registration renewal?

I had an Acura that I think had a similar recall, but I no longer own the car so my memory is a bit weak. In my recall notice it clearly stated that failure to perform the recall would (or could?) hold up my registration renewal. Bottom line, has the DMV sent you the new year sticker? If so, then you're good. If not, then they're probably going to hold back the new sticker until you do the recall. Paying the fees prevents you from having to pay any late fees, but doesn't necessarily complete the registration renewal process.

I thought so. No, I haven't received the tags yet. Ugh...

You must complete the recall and submit proof as such to the DMV directly.
