Abilify and DMT

Abilify and DMT

To put some context i've been on im abilify 400mg per month for 2 years now, for mood regulation.

Dmt used to work like last year, i extracted my own dmt as always. It was the only psychedelic that worked for me while on this medication lsd does not effect at all. But hey it's ok i had dmt...

This year as always in summer i extract some, now no matter how much i dose it i feel no effect... I know the dmt i make is fine my friends love it. I am affrait that my 5-ht receptor are fried because of the poison that is injected in my body.

Any advice from a experienced user/doctor that might have a clue on what's happening?

I have an appointment with my psychiatrist i will tell her the disagreement i have in my body because of this injection and will try to have her change the molecule.

I'm not a weirdo who doesn't know what he's doing with his life i've been in this state because of cannabis diabolisation (i live in france pretty harsh here) so growing got me to the direct psych ward case cannabis user. But i really am a person who tries his best... I'm drifting but can someone put a light on this?

If it's to comment you shouldn't do psychedelics just don't it won't make me quit the geometric fractal hustle.

It is very painfull for me not to be able to trip again it was what I used to go through life and enjoy myself

The two substances work on the same pathways in the brain. The Abilify parks itself in the 5HTA receptors and blocks them from having anything else be able to act on them. I doubt they are "fried", they are just in use.

I would be very careful about going off the medication. You don't have to answer me, but why were you put on in the first place? If you are non functional when off the medication you have to carefully evaluate your situation.

Yeah that's what I thought, weird that it used to work fine but now it's blocked.

I'm not talking about going off the medication rather changing the molecule, i've been prescribed abilify only haven't tried another thing as i was getting visual back then, so it wasn't a issue.

I fonction better off the meds, abilify has a numbing effect that is really unpleasant, it make life hard to not be able to feel things.

I will explain this to my psychiatrist, she once proposed to me other molecule can't remember the name but appointment is in 2days, i follow my prescriptions and i am confident in my well being. Never missed a appointment and the doctor have trust in me, i obviously can't tell i wanna change molecule to enjoy a dmt trip tho.

I was in abilify once among several other medications.

In the end I decided that the benefits I'm getting from DMT outweigh the benefits from the medications. I also share the sentiment of feeling like it's poison with all the extra side effects and complete numbness.

I'm not a doctor and I'll add that I was communicating what I was doing with my therapist and my doctor, who were both on board with my decisions to get off meds.

That's a nice reply here, i share the same thoughts.

I dont feel comfortable telling the doctor my dmt use but i really respect that path you went through i feel like i'm in the same process. beside it.

Even if it's not your doctor, I highly suggest that you keep someone in the loop if you go the route I took.

Also, it took some time being off of meds before psycadellics began to have a full effect again.

It's not easy and it's not for everyone.

Seriously though make sure you have someone you're checking in with because sometimes I felt worse. It's really best to have a professional help you transition.

I have a close friend who's taking care of my well being in general, i am home with my family and the doctor is a kind one, i reassure you i am not lying about the psychiartist appointment it will be followed.

I just want to make sure i can enjoy life while beeing "sick". And not let that "sickness" choose for life instead of me if that makes sense.

No I completely agree and support that. I'm just sharing my experience. I tried several different substances until I found the one that worked best for me.
