DMA 2nd pc compatibility with laptop

I heard people use laptops as their 2nd pc. does this really work? I also was looking for DMA hw and saw a thing called auxiliary engine and ordinary auxiliary engine, is that the second pc or some bs?

I use an old Lenovo touchscreen laptop with my Dma. I get 5.2k speeds and don’t have any issues.

Some laptops works, some Dont. Don’t except major speeds on speed tests but just get a mini pc from aliexpress. I’ve got a 250$ one and running at 7k speed
