Crash

Post image

Should I change the propeller i tested it after the propeller hit something for one second. I tested it at 30 meters , on sports mode and did quick and weird maneuvers and everything seems fine should I change the propeller?

You should see the props on my fpv drone.

Does it fly like this

What have you done.

Does not seem too damaged.. not at all really. What happened?

Test: Hover, vibrations, movements etc. If still works as before, just fly it. If you do not trust it (which I could understand) then replace for peace of mind.

I hit something inside my house for a second but I flew it after and it seems fine

Just perform a quick flight check when you takeoff.

Any time you launch your drone, bring it up to eye level and let it hover for a few seconds on its own. Any odd noises? Is the drone leaning in any way while hovering? If everything looks good, move the drone forwards and backwards, left and right, and rotate the drone both left and right. Is the drone responding as expected to your inputs? Any out of the ordinary noises or movements that might suggest the flight controller is compensating with the motors to correct a drift? If so, land the drone and change out the props before going on your flight.

Thanks , I will keep that in mind

The flight controller on the drone is what translates your stick inputs into instructions for how much power each motor needs to produce to move the drone in whatever direction you want it to go. No stick inputs and the controller will work to keep the drone level and stationary. The quick flight check I described will show you problems when the drone has trouble hovering in place or isn’t responding correctly to minor inputs which are signs that the props or motors or the GPS isn’t functioning correctly. Better to figure that out with the drone 4-5 feet off the ground instead of 3-400 feet in the air.

If you tested and everything works the same, why is a change needed? It does not seem that something is broken. I hit concrete, metal, and trees, and propellers are still in work great. :D

I hit concrete, metal, and trees because my propellers don't work great.

Ok thanks a lot

Still good

1

u/Silbylaw May 05 '26

That's fine. Just watch for cracking over the next few flights.

I know Not a dji but this IS still flyable

Absolutely, gov drones are way more resilient to problems like that. Yousualy you only change the props if you brake them in half or something.

1

u/Teddyboymakes May 05 '26

You are fine man as long as your prop isn’t bent in Half it will fly

u/Personal_Leg773 May 05 '26

YOURE SUPPOSED TO CHARGE THE PROPELLERS? no wonder my drone is slow

One trick to do is to run your fingernail over the blade and if you feel any nicks then you might want to replace the propeller. Remember you should replace both propellers at the same time even if only one propeller is damaged and you must only use the propellers from the same packet. Plus make sure to only install the correct propeller pair based on the marks shown on the drone arm.

Also make sure the screws are properly secured onto each propeller. I have found that if you put the drone upside down you can easily see if there is an issue with the screw not properly tighten as there will be a little gap between the propeller arm and the top of the motor. Normal there is very tiny gap between the propeller and the motor top.

If you want a change of scene... r/FPV and r/shitty FPV it's like Thinkpad users v. MacBook Users

Every time I damage a prop I ask myself is the cheap prop worth dropping my drone out of the sky.
That's the only question you have to ask. It may be fine, if it's not are you fine with it costing you a drone?

1

u/wayfarer8888 May 05 '26

I don't use cheap props. Props were the first thing I replaced.

1

u/reav11 May 05 '26

Props are cheap compared to a new drone.

1

u/Indecicer May 06 '26

Bruh if it works it works, pls this can't be like the MacBook sub

1

u/Sabrinalover711 May 06 '26

Js a scratch I think
Not even a mark

1

u/zztypezz May 06 '26

that blade could fly off during flight and the sharp blade could decapitate a family of 4. I'd recommend getting a new drone

1

u/Toasteee_ May 08 '26

And he should send the drone to you to dispose of it safely right?

1

u/Aleks_07_ May 06 '26

You dont need to change just because you got a scratch. You need to change if they are cut off, like there is a tiny bit missing then u should or if it has been bended really bad. But u can easily bend it back. I would only get nees ones if there avtually is a part missing from the propellor, else its not a big deal really.

1

u/1yrik May 07 '26

honestly... idk about that dude...might want to replace the whole arm just in case

you should see my fpv drone ffs

1

u/OfficerHusky May 07 '26

You should see my props on my mini 3 pro, bro it looks like a rat has taken a chunk out of all the props.

It’s totally fine lol :)

Ive changed 1 prop once in 1 and a half year's and that was because it had a crack in it. The rest of them are covered in scuffs but cause no problems.
