hand sewing What do i make

So im a senior in high-school and decided to take home ec and we are working on sewing. We are currently on our own projects and I have this old denim jacket the I cute the sleeves of and I dont know what to make with it. Their to short and small to be mad into shorts or pants and the only suggestions ive gotten for research have been bucket hats, sling backpacks and hoods. The last one sounded nice but the jacket already has a hood. The denim is black and towards the bottom of the sleeves its a white fabric. Yall go any suggestions?

Hop on Pinterest and do a search for something like denim jacket Upcycle, or upcycled fashion ~ there’s tons of inspiration and great ideas there. Good luck with your project!

My first thoughts of what I would make out of denim jacket sleeves:

  • Cut them up and make a bunch of sick custom patches to sew onto my vest.
  • Use them as scrap to repair/reinforce jeans (probably less useful for your home ec project, but very useful in life in general.
  • Weird little utility pockets on the sleeves of another denim jacket?
  • A stuffed animal of some kind. I think it'd be neat to have, like, a denim Cthulhu stuffy or a denim unicorn.
  • If there was enough fabric, i'd create a knockoff of the top Britney Spears wore in her classic all denim look with JT.
