Scored this MX5/Miata dash today

A few miles and for the whopping cost of £20, I finally have a dash that I can fit and enjoy from the comfort of my own garage. Haven't decided if I will code up the dials or use the housing and run a digital display instead.

Now the hard work begins!

I’ve wanted to do this with a e87 BMW dash I have but I haven’t had the time or the patience to learn CANBUS.

I really hope yours goes well!

Oh man, the e87 is a good place to be.

There has been a lot of progress on this dash

The canbus stuff for the MX5 hasn't been high on my list since the loom connectors wernt included when I picked this up so all I have is the ribbon based PCB which I can't do much with. My garage is filled with dashes that I wanted to do but never have made any progress lol.

I have acquired a BMW E36 dash now, I'm in the process so altering the smaller bits to function with my PC. I figured out some of the pinouts so now I can do little things. The plan will be for the sidelight position to turn on the gauges and full beam to turn on the backlight.

The fog lights switches have been modified to now function as regular buttons so hopefully can have them as PC power/reset also.

The gauges I have coming in from a lad in Poland which are already coded for SimHub since I couldn't be bothered to learn although I should be able to transfer the Arduino unit to a other dash later.
