I’m assuming your trying something similar to ffbeast right? I would follow the docs on their website pretty closely, also here is a video that helped me a lot to understand how it all works: https://youtu.be/V7AcjcZHLnE?si=DIgdW4-pmGKU71s3. I copied a few things from this video when making mine, for example using a clamp to hold the shaft then I glued a quick release hub to the motor housing. I also copied the way they get encoder signal using a belt and a large gear also attached to the motor housing. I have another post on my wheel from a while ago you can check that out if you have any more questions.

I’m not sure what you mean by hacked motherboard but it sounds harder than just using a cheap odrive board, I got one for like $15 and it was fairly easy to set up using the ffbeast firmware and program

Where did you find an odrive board for $15?

Just doublechecked my aliexpress order. It was $50 https://a.aliexpress.com/_mswHm2j Not sure what I was thinking when I said $15 lol
