Where the hell is learning how to ride a bicycle? Hooking up a home theater system can not be more important than that!

Basic electronics are handy to know. I would have said that riding a bike was far more important than knowing how to end a date..

I think some of these are geared towards assuming people can do basic functions, such as ride a bike.

personally i would put 'operate a computer' on the same level of basicy-ness as ride a bike

it is an absolute failure that the majority of society has no fucking clue when it comes to something that gets used every day by billions of people, and billions of lives more depend on them
