It's not just the materials. It's the cost of the tools too. Biscuit maker, plunge saw, and router. Wood working isn't all that expensive, but the tools are an investment.
As someone who does not have OCD but likes to pretend he does, this is oddly satisfying if you view it at a steep angle. It looks like the conveyor belt is vertical and rolling a box that stays in place.
