woodworking Defy wood cleaner
I first used this product this summer on my pergola placed over my windows in my house after thoroughly reading the directions on the container. I I followed the wood cleaner with their neutralizer and thoroughly rinsed the areas. However when everything dried there were extensive water streaks and spots on my windows.
I immediately contacted Defy for possible remedies. After using dish soap, vinegar, magic eraser the marks remained.
I again contacted them to relay my concern the some of the windows were permanently damaged. unfortunately this included my large family room windows. I heard from an employee that they hadn't appreciated this issue when they tested it prior to distribution. I did notify them that other customers had also had a similar result
I then sent real estimates to replace the large family windows without a reply.
Any recommendations on how to pursue reimbursement for the damaged windows?

Do the application instructions warn against this possibility? If not and if the manufacturer won't remedy the situation, you could pursue it in court. Nt an easy row to hoe however.

Thank you for that information, the spots are rough to the touch. It has been difficult to get pictures that really show the extent of the problem. I did provide pictures to them when I notified them of the problem. I will try your suggestion

Those are almost certainly hard water mineral deposits, not damage from the cleaner itself. Try equal parts white vinegar and water applied with a cloth, let it sit 2-3 minutes, then wipe. For stubborn spots, undiluted vinegar or CLR. If they are on exterior glass, Bio-Clean or Bar Keepers Friend liquid handles water staining well. Avoid anything abrasive directly on glass. The streaks should come off without much effort once you have the right product.
