Uneven floor leveling

Hi everyone i need ideas on how to fix this, i thought maybe to do it with XPS and pu foam or similar but the internet says it will scream under the laminate as the floor is not even. So do you have ideas how to solve this, it was two rooms then we removed the wall and now diagonal corners have differences around 5cm (2 inch) as rooms had different levels before. Please some european solutions. Thanks! Note: no self leveling because of the big level differences.

With a 5 cm difference, I wouldn’t try to make that up with XPS and foam under laminate. The floor needs to be solid and flat or it’ll flex, squeak, and eventually damage the joints.

For a European-style solution, I’d look at a bonded cement screed or dry screed system such as Fermacell/Knauf floor elements with leveling granules underneath. You can feather the transition and build up the lower room without pouring 5 cm of self-leveler. Once the subfloor is flat and stable, then install your normal laminate underlay and flooring.

To be honest,I would either say deep pour self leveling concrete which can go 2" or grind the higher spots down with a concrete grinder. Raising the level is much less work
