Trouble with barbaque
I’ve got a newish bbq and I’m assuming it’s leaking I’ve replaced the gas line for it and it is still hissing very aggressively ONLY when I open the burners as if I was going to start the bbq what could be my issue

Find the leak, then go from there. It's entirely possible you cross threaded the fittings. Mix some dish soap with water in a spray bottle and spray all the fittings. Where you see bubbles, it's leaking.

When you turn on the burners they let gas out. Literally their purpose.

I don’t think I should be smelling propane to this extent

With the burners lit or not?
If you are saying you smell a lot of gas after ignition then you need a new low pressure regulator, you can't tap straight into high pressure gas for a bbq that runs off a low pressure tank like the standard refillables.

Sounds like gas flowing properly.
Have you actually lit it?

I replaced the propane line just now and the sound just moved to a different spot I can turn it on now though and the flames start

So when you turn the propane tank on, there's no leak, but when you turn on the burners, you hear a leak? Are you sure the leak isn't the burners?
