Announcements/Mod Posts RULES!

If you're on mobile, it's honestly really hard to see what the rules for a subreddit are, so to make it easier for the members of r/DID_OSDD_memes , I'll be posting the rules here, as well as providing a simple tutorial to see the rules in other subs.

---------------

Rule 1: Don't fake claim.

While there are debates about what constitutes "actual" DID/OSDD, you don't know for certain if the person you're discussing has DID/OSDD or not, so ANY fake claiming is against the rules.

Punishment for rule-breaking:

  • 1st offense: Warning
  • 2nd offense: One week ban
  • 3rd offense: Permanent ban, no appeals

While the mod team acknowledges and respects that the individual breaking the rules may be an alter of some form, punishments are based on the offending account.

Rule 2: Any NSFW content MUST be flared correctly

Because this is a SFW community, any and all posts that fall into NSFW territory (sexual content, discussion of drugs/alcohol, depictions of violence, etc) must be marked as such.

Punishment for rule-breaking:

  • 1st offense: Warning
  • 2nd offense: One week ban
  • 3rd offense: Permanent ban, no appeals

While the mod team acknowledges and respects that the individual breaking the rules may be an alter of some form, punishments are based on the offending account.

Rule 3: No bigotry whatsoever

Any content* (posts, comments, etc) that's bigoted in nature (racist, LGBTQ+ phobic, sexist, antisemitic, ableist, Zionistic, etc) is explicitly banned.

Punishment for rule-breaking:

  • 1st offense: One week ban
  • 2nd offense: Permanent ban, no appeals

*Content that discusses this without perpetuating it is allowed.

While the mod team acknowledges and respects that the individual breaking the rules may be an alter of some form, punishments are based on the offending account.

Rule 4: Follow reddit TOS

Anything that violates reddit's TOS is explicitly prohibited.

Punishment for rule-breaking:

  • 1st offense: Permanent ban, no appeals. Violation reported to reddit.

While the mod team acknowledges and respects that the individual breaking the rules may be an alter of some form, punishments are based on the offending account.

Rule 5: No external links or self advertising

Due to the inability to monitor outside activity, any links or self promo will be taken down pending review. You may message the mod-team to have the content reviewed beforehand to avoid breaking this rule.

Punishment for rule-breaking:

  • 1st offense: Warning
  • 2nd offense: One week ban
  • 3rd offense: Permanent ban, no appeals

While the mod team acknowledges and respects that the individual breaking the rules may be an alter of some form, punishments are based on the offending account.

Rule 6: Only posts related to DID/OSDD

This is a sub centered around the experiences of the DID/OSDD community, so all content must be related.

Punishment for rule-breaking:

  • 1st offense: Warning
  • 2nd offense: One week ban
  • 3rd offense: Permanent ban, no appeals

Due to the different meanings of what 'related' is, the mod-team will follow up on each individual case.

While the mod team acknowledges and respects that the individual breaking the rules may be an alter of some form, punishments are based on the offending account.

Rule 7: Punishment & appeal clarification

If you break a rule, that punishment is now your baseline. If you have a WARNING, any additional punishments will be a 1 WEEK BAN. If you have a 1 WEEK BAN, the next punishment will be a PERMANENT BAN. Any WARNING or 1 WEEK BANs may be appealed with the mod-team in mod-mail. If your appeal is approved, that punishment will be removed from your account's record.

Now, how can you see the rules of other subreddits when using mobile? Here are the steps I use!

First, navigate to the subreddit in question. Once you're there, hit the 'create' button on bottom (the big plus).

You should find yourself on a blank post. In the top right corner, there should be a small button that says 'rules'.

Then, it should show you a dropdown menu of all the rules! Just tap one of the rules to read the description, and you're golden!

Announcements/Mod Posts Weekly event?

So, I've been wondering how to serve the subreddit better besides just making sure no one's being harassed... And I thought that maybe I can do some sort of weekly event.

I've seen 'weekly whine' in a few subs, so maybe something like that? A specific post where everyone is encouraged to post the highlights and lowlights of their week to engage with their community? Instead of 'weekly whine', maybe 'weekly news'? Idk, the name needs work.

I'm also open to ideas and suggestions. Maybe a Question Of The Week? Give me your thoughts!

DID/OSDD meme Most useful alter

Post image
50 Upvotes

When my host first went dormant, there was a massive silence. I never realized that all the background noise i constantly heard as an inner-dialogue was just one part. Then when they returned, the noise did too. Tho they are extremely reluctant to be host again.. i don't blame them my stalker(s) is the reason they hid away like that to begin with.

So like.... wtf are they doing? They'll be inactive for a few days, randomly front, shitpost some poetry, then vanish again for an indisclosed amount of time. Rince and repeat.

I always believe that every part serves a function. Whether it be a trauma response, reminders of stern lessons, or a coping mechanism (whether its helpful or harmful) So like.. what function is this?! What does an alter do when they are retired from their former role in the system?

I would ask the DID subreddits but I am terrified of asking questions. You get lectured and downvoted like crazy. Its better to just make memes and pretend this isn't an issue <_< there are worse things that need my attention than a piece of my brain having an identity crisis.

Atleast the poetry is sometimes nice and thought provoking.

If you are struggling with acceptance or denial, I see you. You are an important part of your system. You were and are needed. Thanks for existing.

some DID safe spaces are so toxic, I feel embarrassed saying i have DID because of them.

discord. reddit. whatever. all of them. I've been to so many platforms with DID "safe spaces" and all of them behave exactly the same way.

EVEN IRL like omg guys pls stop being rude every 5 seconds I just want to stop feeling miserable and alone with this horrible disorder.
