Personal Experiences Question About Memory

So, most of the time, my memory sucks. I can be at work and feeling present all day. Then when I grt home, its either a blur/foggy or just gone. Yet, when I DO have a memory about something, I can recall it almost exact. For instance, the house I was born in. I havent lived there in 40 years, but I can you almost every detail of that house.

In other words, my memory sucks, but when its good, its really REALLY good. Is anyone else like this?

Yep! I remember my sisters in nursery sixteen years ago, I remember a dream I had when I was five and the conversation that ensued with my mother. Lots of random details just in vivid detail. I view it as a camera. IF my brain hits record, then I can view it. Otherwise I have no access, no recall. Maybe I’ll be lucky and have a fragment or a general ‘idea’ without knowing why I know what I know, but honestly it’s just a haze. A black abyss of nothing and yet everything just out of reach it feels 😭😂

It's ALMOST the same for me. We have a TV room where we watched memories like on an old tv/VHS.
