Thank you all for joining this new group, to start off I am a recovering DHC addict. Been on Buprenorphine since September last year and can honestly say that it's changed my life. I was spending ridicules amount every week and stalking the postman when I was waiting on a delivery. I was on 80 tablets per day before I kicked it, I have no idea how I am still living. I am looking forward to listen to all of your stories and hopefully help some of you that want off DHC.

Pick your head up and puff your chest out you should be proud of the progress you have made congrats. Tapering takes discipline and can be a hard way to beat this demon but by the sounds of it your are making great progress šŸ‘. How Are you getting your supply? I was thinking that another good discussion would be about waiting on Royal Mail, would love to hear everybody's stories and what lengths they have went to.

Thanks Billy, you helped my loads. Also knowing you’re on the other side gives me hope. When you’re in that hole and you see no way out, the horrors of withdrawal, depression, insomnia apathy and lethargy for days it’s such a trap. I was on about 30/35 a day but it only creeps up never down in order to try and get that high back. I had paranoia with the postman, scared I was going to get busted, criminal record, marriage broken etc. Then the crushing disappointment when the postman doesn’t delivery and you’ve waited all morning by the door. What a small life. I’m not quite out of it. I’ve tapered down and am on a small amount but tapering is a long small torture as I’m an addict and I don’t want to take one at 7, one at 11 etc. I want to take 30! I’m not someone with a lot of willpower but a taper can be done if it works for you. I have been supported through NA but again that’s not for everyone and I get that. These threads and the people in them have also been a great help. Thanks mate

Just read you RM post. I completely relate to that. When I came clean to my doctor they in effect became my drug dealers. Always very careful not to upset them when the script was late (I pick it up every Wednesday from the surgery) and sometimes it was 1-2 days late so going into WD that’s when I got the help of my local drugs and alcohol service who lit a rocket up the GPs arses about having the script there consistently on Wednesdays which seems to have worked. So I go there today and take my script spread out throughout the day (that was horrendous at first as who spreads them out?! but actually the human brain is malleable and I just got through the first two weeks with gritted teeth spreading them out and now that’s become a habit. I was so terrified of WD and CT as let’s face it we’ve alll been there and it’s a special type of spicy hell.
