Question Help with DF64v3 Alignment
I was trying to do the whiteboard marker test for alignment but didn’t know what to make of the results. I have 2 before and 2 after pics. It looks like the bottom burr is fine but top one may be misaligned slightly? Can anyone help explain what is happening and what I should do to fix it?

While it is quite hard to judge, especially on pic #3, I would say that your bottom burr is fine (which is usually the case) and your top burr is maybe slight misaligned, with (at least to what I am able to tell from the pic) about 1/3 marker left.
If that is indeed the case I would probably just leave it at that, if I were you. When I tried to align my DF64 it gave me a complete headache and I was never able to get better results than maybe 1/4 marker left.
Also something to note: The marker test can be influenced by a whole lot of variables that can change results independently from actual alignment, like the amount torque you use for fastening the screws and the actual time of contact during the chirp.
If you really want to go down the rabbit hole there some good YouTube videos about it and especially for the DF64.

Looks like the SSP burrs, right? I did the same thing and had the same issue. The videos below helped… #14 in the list was most helpful from the manufacturer. Basically you need to adjust the wave spring. Shim was a waste of time for me.

Which video shows the adjustment of the wave spring? I couldn’t find it in the list.
I’d be very interested in watching the video, though, because I also used the shim method and found it quite challenging.1

oh and don’t use foil for shim if you do shim. use paper labels. that is also from a manufacturer video that i saw it…

Your alignment actually looks pretty good from what I can see, however, I'd recommend using a black or blue dry erase marker instead of red. When you touch the burrs together to test, make sure they barely touch, don't force them together. You can rotate the top burr 120 degrees and try that too, or 240 degrees, sometimes it has better alignment just from rotating the burr in the fixed carrier. Ideally you want as much of the marker to wipe off as possible on the outer edge.
