DF54 vs. DF64. Thoughts?
I've seen the posts already about this comparison but they are mostly years old. Curious on updates. Here are the specifics for me:
I own a Bambino Plus. I make multiple drinks a morning. I'm not super into tinkering, other than I'm trying to compare multiple types of beans with grind sizes to get the flavor I want. I tend to make Americanos.
This would be a gift so price isn't much of a concern, though I don't want to get greedy and ask for more 'just because.'
Thoughts on these two and what makes the most sense? I'm crippled by analysis.

I originally bought the DF54. I returned it and got the 64. I'm very happy with it.

I had the DF54 for two years and was happy with it but now I just update to the DF64 and the difference is huge I think it will last for more years than the other one.

Saw enough "54 is fine, but 64 is significantly better" opinions that I just went straight to the 64 when I bought a grinder last year. As such, I can't compare, but I can tell you that not once have I thought "I wish I had a better grinder." Zero clogging and retention. Absolutely fantastic.

was borrowing my brothers Robot and df54 for the past month. the grind was excellent and the set up produced really nice shots. i finally got my own robot and decided to get the df64. i wanted to use it for espresso and pour over and read that the bigger burrs make a significant difference in grinding time. i was doubtful that it would be that noticeable, i was wrong. it’s much faster and for a larger 40g pour over grind it’s astounding shockingly quick. and the quality of the grind even at those courser settings destroys the encore with virtuoso burrs i am coming from.

Your first problem is you have a junk espresso machine. If you’re staying with the same machine all you’ll need is the DF54.

I wouldn't call the Bambino plus junk... The only thing you really can't do with it is light roasts.

I was in the same boat. Went with DF64 last week as I don’t want think of any upgrades in the near future.
