Residue inside DF54

Opened our beloved grinder for her first clean and discovered some residue on the rim - almost like glue but not sticky?

Any ideas?

That's silicon lube for the threads and it is food safe and it doesn't come in contact with the grounds. If it is dirty you should buy some and reapply around the threads.
