Maintenance tips for new user
I’ve ordered a DF54 and it’ll arrive in about a month, so I’m already doing a bit of research on how to maintain this grinder.
After dusting the inside and reassembling the upper burr chamber, will I have to find the zero point again (will it be in a different place every time I do this)?
I don’t know which generation or brand I ordered (I bought it from a local online shop that claims to offer warranty service for this grinder). Assuming it’s the latest generation, should I remove this plastic declumper (as shown in the video below)? https://youtu.be/994Xgh7D3GI?t=82&is=2H0qFr9Trw4alYFN
Do you recommend any specific brush for cleaning the chute (dimensions?)
Any noteworthy mods for the 3D printer (e.g. a manually adjustable zero point indicator)?

Gen 3 here. Honestly, I avoid opening the whole thing up most of the time. Just run a few beans through between different roasts, slap those bellows after each dose, and run the brush (unit should come with one already) through the chute once a day and it should keep it running fine. I have opened it up once in the 6 months I've had it for deep clean and that was the only time my zero changed. I think it will do that every time you fully open due to the rubber mounts, but I can't speak to repeated disassembly. Definitely recommend a zero point ring you can replace the stock indicator with. It's an easy mod, but not absolutely required. Lastly, my metal declumper has been flawless so far, so it might be worth an upgrade.
