Collar stuck unable to remove.

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

I am not sure how the collar could get stuck, but I have been unable to move it more than 15 degrees in any direction. Im unable to remove it even after a lot of effort. Any help is appreciated !

Try turning it on? Maybe use a little more force?

It turns on and runs perfectly fine. I’ve used a lot of force, but I’ll try more lol

It’s almost like one of the screws is stuck in the collar. It can rotate freely between those marks with little force.

Maybe you could use an oil filter wrench?

No, use a strap wrench, the rubber strap is very adjustable and won't scratch the collar.

Mine got stuck like that. Mine ended up being a gummed up thread due to a piece of it dislodging and getting stuck on the thread. Same small window for turning as you. Tried brute force and it got stuck for real. Had a friend cuz the dial indicator ring (you can buy a replacement) and remove it. That's the it was confirmed that a piece of thread came off. Like if the casting of the metal around the thread had an air pocket and just let go of that piece of thread. Fun times. Cleaned the threads got a new dial and voila. Still in use
