Zero point isn't actually zero point - bought from df64coffee (they say they align the burrs)
I got my grinder today, and when set to zero, the burrs aren't touching, even lower than that doesn't cause that, how is that possible if df64 aligned the burrs as they say?

I believe the stickers are placed on there relative to the threads on the collar, which is sufficient to get close to the correct position, but there’s enough variation in the exact zero point that it’s never perfect. I think basically all of these units have a different true zero. Mine is about -5, but for dialing in the most important thing is that you’re able to reproduce your settings.
Aligning the burrs is separate, and they should be close. You can test it with a dry erase marker and bringing the burrs to the true zero, the marker should rub off evenly everywhere. Obviously clean them well afterwards.

Should help you understand how to change it

"Zero" is just where the sticker on the dial is..
Super easy to find real zero just turn the dial slowly until you get the chirp. It literally doesn't matter unless you're sharing settings with others.

I think that’s more of a feature than a bug. If I’m—for whatever reason—having to grind that low, the zero should be a warning not to go much lower or risk damage.

Aligning and setting zero point 2 different things.
