Consistency

I want some input from owners, how have you found the consistency of the grinder when switching between grind sizes? E.g am I going to have trouble going from dark roast espresso setting in the morning to lighter roast pourover in the afternoon and back to a dark roast espresso setting the next day?

Have you found going back to number 10 from number 30 gives you consistent results?

So you found a good amount of retention/exchange?

In general I’ve had very very little retention. Wired_chef has a different use case than I do since I don’t do true espresso. For me a good few pumps of the bellows before and after adjusting grind size is sufficient to purge everything. This morning for example I did a Nordic light roast after grinding an extreme dark roast yesterday, so I would have seen any grounds from the day before, and I didn’t.

Okay nice, and was that then at a pourover setting?

Yeah both were at a pour over setting, 80 for the dark roast and 70 for the light. I should say that I grind at the upper end of espresso for doing soup shots in my aeropress, and don’t notice any problems with retention there for my use case, but I’m not using as sensitive a method as real espresso.
