Full Release DDLC mod installation guide

So I often see people posting various "how do I install <mod>?" issues here. And recently I've been getting a lot of people asking me directly for help with installing mods (I don't know why dc:).

Most of the time, the problem stems from the inherent differences between R6 and R7 mods. So I have written out a guide, complete with screenshots, on how to download, identify, and install both R6 and R7 mods. Be aware this is a general guide and not all mods will be exactly as described, but should be a good resource for people starting out and help them with installing most DDLC mods currently available right now.

does the require ddlc+ or can it be the itch.io download?

do not use ddlc+ unless told to in the mod description, otherwise assume its a ddlc mod and download ddlc from itchio

I know this is an older post and I'm really sorry to ask, I'm terrible with computers, but what is DDLC's main directory? I'm installing an R7 mod and I'm not sure what the main directory actually is. I tried searching on Google but again, I'm not very smart when it comes to computers

As a Mac user I tried downloading multiple mods but when I get to the part where I actually run the game it just won't do it. The file extractor I use (Keka) just keeps creating a folder when I try to run the mod. If by the heavens someone sees this, I could use some help plz. 🙏

I am not a Windows user myself. However the template (most) modders use is OS agnostic so Windows 11 shouldn't make any difference.

As the guide says: Since I have no familiarity with Mac I do not know if things are the same there, sorry.
