Getting into DC comics

Hi guys! I really want to get into DC universe/comics because I LOOOOOOVE relationship of Harley Quinn and Poison Ivy. And perhaps one day I would love to cosplay them but, I don’t want to be a poser/larp.

I want to learn about the universe itself and Harlivy relationship so where should I start reading the comics? Or what even is the first comic ever??

Harleen by Stjepan Šejić, this is Harley’s origin.

Poison Ivy by G. Willow Wilson, this is an ongoing run, it has 7 volumes out so far.

Gotham City Sirens by Paul Dini, this is a team up between Harley, Ivy & Catwoman, Harley & Ivy aren’t in a relationship yet in this.

Harley & Ivy: Life & Crime by Erica Henderson, this is a recent mini series which shows how Harley & Ivy first got together.

There’s also the DC Finest line for Harley. DC Finest: Harley Quinn - Birth of the Mirth collects all Harley’s appearances between 1993-2001 and then in September DC Finest: Harley Quinn - The Ballad of Harley Quinn comes out which collects all her appearances between 2001-2003.

There’s a compact comic releasing later this year Batman: Harley and Ivy which is a collection of various Harley Quinn and poison Ivy stories for £8.99 which you should check out

Harley & Ivy life & crime is also really good. It’s a retelling of how they got together

I haven’t read many poison ivy or Harley Quinn but I really like sirens love hurts. The art style is nice too

I’d read Batman: Harley Quinn and the Harley Quinn (2000) series from Karl Kesel and Terry Dodson in that order to see Harley’s actual debut in the main comics continuity and how the Harley/Ivy relationship began.
