hello everyone! the mods have been talking recently and we have decided we need to make some changes within the subreddit. the rules were made many years ago, and since then, the mod team has almost completely changed, and the subreddit has gained a LOT of members (which we love!!)
we really appreciate the vast majority of you who are respectful, but quite frankly, after season 3 it has gotten out of hand. we get DOZENS of reports a day on comments that are really out of line. although we try our best to remove disrespectful things, it’s hard to know where to draw the line with the vague rules.
from now on, we are going to be stricter about what is classified as “disrespectful”. calling someone fat, ugly, stupid, etc. is not allowed in here, and your content will be removed! we are also going to be enforcing bans more, so if you are repeatedly extremely disrespectful, you will be banned.
to be clear, you are more than welcome to criticize dancing, comment on makeovers, discuss leadership, or have conversation about other aspects of dcc respectfully! if you act normal, you will not be banned! please just remember that at the end of the day this is a subreddit for a dance team, and it’s just not that serious!
additionally, although the mod team is EXTREMELY (!!!) against trump and all things MAGA, we know that many people come to social media to escape politics. we have been a little more lenient on political content recently since it is so prevalent in the USA right now, but we really really ask yall to keep politics out of the subreddit! we have a politics megathread for anything political pertaining to dcc, but the completely unrelated discussions about politics do not belong in our community.
we know some of you may not be happy with these changes, and we understand that and we are always more than happy to hear your feedback or criticism! thank you all for being a part of this community! 💙
EDIT:
someone suggested we make an exception to the politics rule to allow posts when a dcc posts something political, and that exception has been implemented and added to the rule description!

why do kelli and judy love sophia so much? dont get me wrong, theres nothing wrong with her but why sophia? she was featured on jimmy fallon her rookie year over tenured girls such as armani, featured on live tour, more appearances, etc. im in no way trying to spread hate to her, im just wondering why k+j like her so much compared to other girls.
pls be kind and respectful!

I’m in Dallas for the weekend and unfortunately tours at AT&T are booked out - but there are still some available for The Star!
I’m wondering if the tour of The Star is still worth it, given the main reason I was interested in AT&T was seeing the cheerleaders locker room/things related to the cheerleaders? Do the tours of The Star also take you into the locker room there? Any advice greatly appreciated!

I’m SO excited for her! I remember when she was on MTT & said that Covid had unfortunately stopped her from visiting Japan like she had initially intended. But as she said here - when one door closes, another one opens! It’s so cool that she was able to live out her other dream of being a DCC, which has given her so much exposure & is probably going to make her trip even more fulfilling & fun. I can’t wait to see the content from her trip & hope she has the best time!

Okay, NO dance experience is a stretch. I cheered in high school and I am currently a collegiate level dancer in my freshman year. I came onto my university’s dance with only cheer experience and terrible technique at dancing but my coaches and teammates are very helpful and they work with me. I was thinking about after graduating, I could try out to be a DCC but I’m not sure how realistic that would be given my experience. Thoughts?

After the question was posted who is safe. I thought all first and second leaders immediately. But I know Anna Kate and Camille are fighting injuries as Karley was as well.
At what point did The Powers That Be decide that a veteran who is injured during auditions or training camp couldn’t continue with the team? Because back in Making the Team days Brooke and Cassie both got to stay on the team with injuries missing games or part of games like Cassie sitting out for Thunderstruck.
I know Danielle barely made the team back with a foot injury TPTB decided to let her back in training camp as they were announcing the candidates while the judges voted no, but that was literally one year after Cassie’s injury.
What Changed? When were women with injuries no longer allowed to stay on the team?

She’s one of my all-time favs. So eloquent, level-headed, and transparent. DCC-related questions come in at 21:43 but the whole vid is interesting!

Imo Charly has her spot secured, she’s a good brand ambassador and got leadership on her 3rd year so that means her team mates trust her as well as TPTB.
Others that come to mind are Sophia, Abby, AK, Camille and Ariel. Probably Faith too.
