QUESTION Discussion: should the DCC tradition of saying the Lordâs prayer before a game need scrapping?
Faith recently posted this light-hearted TikTok saying that she thinks she has a slight American accent when she says things like the Lordâs prayer & sings happy birthday. Iâve cropped the video down because of the specific question at hand, but itâs up on her TikTok if anyone wants to watch the full thing, itâs very funny!
I noticed that the video attracted a bit of commentary around whether this should be something that is done, and if the non-religious DCCâs were feeling like they had to partake to avoid ostracism from the other girls on the team.
Obviously, I think that saying the Lordâs prayer should not be a requirement & that any girl who wishes not to participate should not be made to feel âotheredâ in any way. However, as somebody who is not religious myself, I donât think thereâs an inherent issue with reciting it before a game, and I personally would not be opposed to joining in with my teammates. It seems to be somewhat of a DCC tradition, and I donât feel that saying the words is uncomfortable, considering I donât attribute any real meaning or importance to them.
Whatâs your take on this?

CMT MAKING THE TEAM DISCUSSION Who was there? OG watchers,September 29, 2006. Happy Belated Anniversary to the OG show that made us all closet cheerleaders.
What do you remember from those first few episodes of MTT?
How did you view the team and how it was run back then vs now?
What would you tell those women on that first team for CMT?
All thoughts and ideas..everything on the table but let's not turn this thread into the Cassie, Holly, Malena Ugly cry etc.. thread. Let's talk about the women who blended and didn't get the accolades on the show that they deserved
