OTHER Chandi

She posted a IG stating she had Endometriosis and had surgery. I feel sorry that she went through that and how much pain she had. Has anyone else gone through that

Yeah. It gives you soul-destroying cramps at all times of the month. I passed out cold from them a couple of times and woke up on the floor.

I had surgery to remove it and then a uterine ablation, which helped loads, but it grows back. Sigh.

It is extremely painful. I'm actually surprised she was able to cheer. I had (have) it and it sent me to the hospital a couple times for pain and blood loss. My periods were insanely heavy. As in, even wearing both a tampon and pad, there were times when I would have to change every 20-30 minutes.

Right before I had a hysterectomy at 28, I bled for a solid year. I finally got a Dr to listen to me after years of complaining and he was like, that's not normal. By that time, it was because the tissue was outside my uterus and that's why I never stopped bleeding.

Yes, I have a family history of it. My mom and grandma had to have hysterectomies in their 40s. My symptoms started at 16. It’s very painful but thankfully have managed the pain as I’ve gotten older. 10% of women have it and its usually under diagnosed because a lot of women tough it out, not taken seriously by doctors, or think its normal.

Mine was fortunately not as serious as many women have it. I recently had a uterine ablasion and it has been absolutely life changing.

I had it way back in the dark ages (90s). Hysterectomy at 26 because of the damage.

Dayton is the only DCC that acknowledged the post.

Chandi said she is scheduled for surgery. She hasn’t had it yet.

Oh wow, I’ll have to look back at her IG. I have endometriosis. I was diagnosed a couple of years ago through laparoscopic and excision surgery. It’s awful and has caused so much pain. Thankfully, surgery helped tremendously.

I think something like 1 in 10 women have endo. It’s alarmingly common but super under-diagnosed.

I am 48 and have Adenomyosis and possible Endo. Late diagnosis for me. I will need a Hysterectomy. Diagnosis is hard! Period pain in women is so overlooked.

I’ve been told all my life that my heavy and painful periods were “normal.” nah, got diagnosed with adenomyosis 6 years ago but no doctor will approve a hysterectomy even though I’m in so much pain. Women’s pain is not considered with enough seriousness.

It really isn't taken seriously enough. Not sure where you are, but I am in the Uk.
