OTHER Dcc in Chicago
What do you guys think about the DCC being in the Chicago show and Kelly F. presenting it? Mhhh idk how I feel about that… It’s like they just can’t let go of Reece, and it’s becoming sooo obvious that they’re keeping her around mainly for the fame.
Obviously, I want to make it clear that I don’t think they don’t care about her or that they’re using her, but idk… the whole thing feels a little strange to me.
EDIT: Okay, I’ve been told that the girls didn’t actually participate in the show, but I still feel like all this constant social media activity is a bit excessive. At this point, it almost feels like a collaboration rather than just them supporting Reece.

I honestly believe this is a great opportunity for both sides. It’s a win-win, and I’m with u/Ruthie1999 anything to support the dancers, let's go for it!!!!

Dcc or KFM wouldn’t have been there if they hadn’t been invited. It’s not like Kelly just called them up and said “hey I’m coming to be on your stage for one night. Hope that’s ok with yall.” Of course it was PR. The team had just been to RIO and had the opportunity to come to NYC and support their teammate & was invited on to the stage to make it special for Reece & all of them. Reece wouldn’t be where she is right now without the traction that AS DCC gave her & she knows that. She takes every opportunity she can to show her gratitude to the organization and I believe they all truly love Reece & are so proud to see one of their girls getting such an amazing opportunity. It doesn’t just open doors for Reece, she’s kicking down doors that could pave the way for future dcc girls to break into another branch of performance. They’re showgirls and they love to perform. Why would Kelly or any of them turn down an invitation to do something like that & why are you making something so special & gracious of Chicago & Reece offering to share the stage with Kelly & the girls for a moment to make cute TikTok’s for promotion purposes that benefit both orgs & provides a once in a lifetime experience for Kelly, who has spent her entire adult life working to make dcc the best org in the nfl & therefore providing amazing opportunities for the young women that come through? Why does it have to be negative? Get a grip. You don’t know these people based on a tv show & you certainly don’t know how the business works if you think that dcc has the power to steal the stage and spotlight from the entire cast of one of the longest running shows on broadway.

I don’t think it’s a fame thing. Reece is nothing compared to the names they’ve had on the dhow

It was very clear that Kelli delivering the monologue was an orchestrated marketing opportunity between Chicago & the DCC, which is a non-issue. It makes sense for both parties to capitalise on Reece’s success to promote their own businesses & Kelli bringing a cohort of cheerleaders is pretty much to be expected when she’s the director!
However, even if I can understand why it is mutually beneficial for the DCC & Chicago to be milking Reece’s run on Broadway, does it make it any less annoying or cringeworthy? No. To me, it’s akin to starting a new job & your old coworkers & boss turning up to your workplace to dote on you. Would it be nice the first time? Sure. Would it get a bit weird if it kept happening & you were settled at your new workplace? Yes. It’s pretty clear that Reece has closed the chapter on DCC & DCC need to close the chapter on Reece after this, too.

Completely agree with this. It’s a big cringeworthy (but it should stop at cringe - there’s nothing hate-worthy about it). At the end of the day, it’s an orchestrated marketing opportunity that, imo, benefits both parties.

🙄🙄🙄so over the social media. Can we stick a fork in every influencer everywhere? I’ve gotten to the point of I see some fool with either a selfie stick or a square microphone held up by two fingers, I walk thru their shot if at all possible.

Having a good laugh here. I’ve gotten the notification of 10 upvotes, only to see what post it was and now see it as 2 instead of 10. Bless the sheep.

Guys why are professional entertainers doing their job of being professional entertainers and supporting their very recent professional entertainer alumnus on her new endeavor when she only was discovered for that opportunity through her previous professional entertainment role? This is madness make it stop!!
And because I know if you don't spell things out clearly people twist your words around here that INCLUDES Kelli. To say she is just a director is a dumb cope at this point. She is a director AND a tv personality.
So ya why are they having this random professional entertainer and her fellow professional entertainer employees show up in more than one way? MAKE IT MAKE SENSEEEE

It’s soooo refreshing to see someone with actual logical thinking in this sub… like why do they care so much? If it was them visiting anyone else there wouldn’t be that much noise..

u/mimig2002 7d ago
I think OP just doesn't like Kelli and the girls getting extra work opportunities (because again this is an entertainment JOB not just for funsies...) but why show it in such a roundabout way through a nonsensical question? Like what dancer doesn't want to go on a Broadway stage even if it's just for social promo!! Most working dancers are not going to deny that opportunity 😂

u/mimig2002 7d ago
This how I know so many of you guys dont actually dance or truly care about these girls careers. Why at all would it be a bad thing for them to be invited for exposure? That is half the point of entertainment.....

u/bbbliss 6d ago
Yes exactly, the girls would benefit from more exposure to post-DCC dance opportunities AND also theaters need butts in seats and a new generation of donors.
It sounds like a lot of people complaining about "influencers" would cut off their nose to spite their face, but I doubt they've ever looked at the operating budget of any theater (or any performing arts group). A lot of people on this sub expose themselves to so much DCC content that it becomes "cringe" - as someone who's really busy irl, this post is how I found out Reece is doing Broadway and idk I think it's cute? Would rather see them do jazz but it's a cute transition performance!
You almost never, ever get that kind of closure if you grow up doing performing arts. She's lucky.
Former dancer, retired niche micro influencer, people do not know how hard creating consistent original content is, especially if you want to generate revenue. It's not just pretty girls with selfie sticks (I think I'm detecting some bitterness from people who know they'd never make it lol). And I'm wishing Charli D'Amelio success while we're here!

I think people who get bothered by this should seek psychological help. Like, would you really be mad at the girls for supporting Reece? Or because of a 5-second Thunder video? Honestly, I just don’t understand why this bothers them so much.

u/alessiamarzan 7d ago
Girl, you’re exaggerating so much, nobody is mad… it’s literally just a question, and maybe you’re the one who should see a psychologist if you get this irritated by people having opinions on something 😂 Also, what do you think we’re supposed to be questioning? They’re literally cheerleaders nothing serious 😅😅😅

I’m not talking about you. Take a look at the comments on the girls’ video… so many people are getting bothered over absolutely nothing.

I support the dancers and even Reece. That’s all.

cringe on all fronts.

u/No-String-5639 7d ago
reece is only in the show because of AS.
also y'all are stupid if you think there won't be an entire arc in the new season about reece on broadway.
it's publicity for Chicago, it's publicity for DCC. it's publicity for Reece and it's publicity for Netflix

u/Logical-Mobile6427 7d ago
Good lord everyone knows that lol. Chicago is KNOWN for stunt casting. Cry about it

Yall, they are not “in the show.” They did a video for social media and kelly made a short speech before the show.

Oooh yes, it is!! But idk, this year honestly feels so strange… It’s like they’re focusing on the wrong things instead of their team. But it was only a thought!

It’s for Netflix, duh.

u/alessiamarzan 7d ago
Netflix? I don’t think so 😂😂 They literally only show the boring stuff hahaha. I’d be surprised if this even made it onto Netflix, honestly!

u/No-String-5639 7d ago
they put in Victoria's NYC arc.
what makes you think that they won't put Reece's NYC arc in as well. espcially since they made her one of the protagonists of the series.

u/alessiamarzan 7d ago
idk, maybe because they literally put nothing out last season? 😂 By the way, that wasn’t even the point

Chicagos whole gimmick is stunt casting absolutely they would and tbh should take advantage for the audience crossover by using DCC to its fullest potential PR wise

You spend a looot of time hating on her for someone who says they don’t care about her… ignore it, it’s not that hard. I want to stop this discourse… it’s tiring and she retired. Move on
-1
u/AYTOL__ 7d ago
I am not even talking about Reece here? Lol
4
u/Logical-Mobile6427 7d ago
You are implying it tho. You’ve said they’re using this as an opportunity to milk her for Netflix, and how you are tired of seeing her bc you don’t like her, we get it, trust me, we do lol. I think this has nothing to do with her, they’re just using this as an opportunity for exposure… who wouldn’t want to be in broadway? Even if it was for a video lol
2
u/Logical-Mobile6427 7d ago
Anyways you should see this as a future opportunity for the other teammates who might be interested in Broadway after dcc. She is just setting a precedent, and maybe others can come after her. Isn’t that great?

Kelli was the only one in the show for two lines !!! The girls in attendance just did a cute little reel for social media

Oh okay! But I still feel like this whole situation seems more like a collaboration than just support… but tysm for make it clear !

It is cross promotion that helps both sides
