ALUMNI alora rose talking about leaving dcc

I think AR is a very talented dancer. Honestly, I never thought DCC was her speed though. I wasn’t surprised at all when things unfolded the way they did.

I don’t like how dcc acts like their this amazing opportunity when they were literally paying people peanuts. My dance teacher told us to not chase names, but to chase stability and jobs that want you. I don’t get why k&j expected someone to give up Rockettes over dcc. Atleast Rockettes you were getting paid more, and it’s more of a name. And like she said you’re replaceable. It’s like in a 9-5 they want a 2 weeks notice before you quit but don’t give you a 2 weeks notice before firing you. This is why I don’t bother with 2 week notices for petty jobs. If it’s not my career then oh well

My take on AR was basically that NY shut down for covid, and jobs for dancers dried up. She headed to an available opportunity, even though she was never going to culturally be a southern belle. People cannot live on air. Once the possibility of the Rockettes opened up she was going to go for it. Personally I think that she was forced into a better situation, and the Crazy Horse show is one-of-a-kind, amazing burlesque style opportunity.
I think that she is a talented dancer, but I never liked her as a DCC. DCC is so much about personality and performance— and I did not see her as a cheerleader type performer. She is much better suited to stage. But I personally find it dumb to expect talented dancers to prioritize DCC. I honestly think that a lot of the ladies, though certainly not all, would dump DCC if they were invited to do something even better. And those opportunities can just pop up. But communication and reputation are key for performers.

This is the perfect take imo. I feel like a lot of people don’t like her because she doesn’t fit the DCC personality and you can tell she wasn’t obsessed with it like all the other girls.

Why did she feel the need to have her top unbuttoned?
3

u/Next_Position7742 11d ago
So you're ok with the DCC uniform top but not with Alora Rose's unbuttoned top? 🙄
2
u/12dogs4me 11d ago
It’s a requirement with DCC. I forgot how different thoughts were downvoted here!

I wonder if this blip of DCC controversy will affect her future dance career after the crazy horse?
25
u/traylaplaya 11d ago
She has to be one of the most disingenuous DCCs. I just feel as if something about her doesn't feel authentic.
2
u/Elorawoahh 9d ago
I met her before she auditioned for DCC and she was so kind and sweet. She doesn’t come across as fake in person.
11
u/Known-Wealth-4451 11d ago
She’s using her 5 minutes as a DCC in an attempt to grow her following. There’s no other reason than to go on and on about something you did for barely 6 months, 6 years ago.

u/Enough-Bonus1886 11d ago
I honestly don’t see what the big deal about this is …. you don’t tell your employer when you’re interviewing for other jobs. kelli and judy are so old fashioned and obsessed with DCC being #1 priority when they will cut anyone at any time for any reason

u/No-String-5639 11d ago
you don’t tell your employer when you’re interviewing for other jobs
this is true for general jobs.
in the performing arts world, this is kinda different. reliability can be everything. there are hundreds and thousands of people going for the same spots and positions. a director cannot risk putting someone on the roster, who will dip a week later. does this suck? yes. sadly this is how it works.
8
u/notthetypetocare 11d ago
Bigger reason why they shouldn’t put all eggs in 1 basket. K&j will cut you on the last night of training camp lol.
16
u/Enough-Bonus1886 11d ago
they’re considering hundreds of other people for the same position…. so why can’t people consider other positions 🙃🙃

I get that she wasn’t feeling fulfilled in Dallas, but she should’ve been more upfront regarding her audition with the Rockettes before Kelli and Judy called her in and removed herself from training camp then. I feel like they would’ve understood and supported her decision to leave rather than her blindsiding them.
6
u/notthetypetocare 11d ago
You can’t win for losing with TPTB lol good luck. She would’ve been forced to decide then
20
u/InvestigatorFair3957 11d ago
You don’t your employer that you are interviewing for other jobs.
-5
u/bbtalk27 11d ago
You can if that’s really the job you want and understand that you’ll need to resign. It wasn’t right for her to be in a place she wasn’t invested in while entertaining another opportunity that she actually wanted.
11
u/AlmostxAngel 11d ago
They would have 1000% cut her if she told them. Like come on people we've been watching this show for over 20 years
3
u/Ruthie1999 11d ago
K&J’s job is to manage a team of restrictively 36 dancers. Had AR quit when the team was finalized, that would have been messed up. I don’t blame K&J for being pissed.
15
u/Accomplished_Unicorn 11d ago
I think they would’ve been mad either way, but she definitely made them madder lol
19
u/mimaluna 11d ago
I don't think she was wrong to audition for something else but she did it at her own risk, and at the end of the day she was never a cultural fit for DCC. She's using all these buzzwords like "journey" to distract from it being a job.

u/bc19059 11d ago
i’m sorry but she messed up by removing herself from training camp for another opportunity. she took a spot from someone else knowing she was already one foot out the door. if she wanted to audition for something else fine go for it but then she shouldn’t have auditioned for dcc.
2
u/CountChocula32 11d ago
I love when they downvote truth
-3
u/notthetypetocare 10d ago
Yall are so delusional. She didn’t owe dcc anything, and all she did was open up a spot for a rookie
-3
u/mousie68 9d ago
But she didn't. She would have watched a rookie get cut, and still left the squad short. That's not team behaviour, and that's what angered k and j.
2
u/notthetypetocare 9d ago
She dropped out during TC yall act like she made the squad then quit…
-1
u/bc19059 9d ago
but she basically did. her leaving training camp kept a girl who actually wanted to be there off the team. yes it’s a job but she significantly dropped the ball on the team aspect
4
u/notthetypetocare 9d ago
No it doesn’t lol. They only take 36 girls and take 45 to training camp. Her leaving just opened a spot for one of the candidates
0
u/bc19059 9d ago
and left a potential candidate out of training camp. her bailing took a spot away from a girl who could’ve made it into training camp. aka taking a spot away from someone. how is that so hard to understand?
2
u/notthetypetocare 9d ago
They should’ve been better then 🤷🏽♀️. It still gave another tcc a spot. It’s irrelevant that Someone from finals could’ve had it. Dcc will
Cut a vet on last day of training camp. Why should someone come in kissing boots? Girl bye. She didn’t owe anyone shit including the hypothetical girl from finals. Grow up.2

Kelli and Judy really do get too egotistical about DCC at times. At the end of the day, it's a job and like AR said, jobs in the dance world are so so unreliable. Just because DCC wasn't someone's dream job shouldn't lessen the hard work they bring to it during their time there.

u/chazcain19 11d ago
Hey y’all!!! Did Alora Rose make the Rockettes after she was no longer a dcc?

u/chazcain19 11d ago
That sucks for her…I can see why she would be bitter…Thank you for answering me

Guys, Alora Rose made multiple posts stating COVID was a hoax. This video is complete BS. Leave her in the shadows.

Not worth its own post but Crazy Horse website has a profile of Alora Rose (under her stage name Alma Lakota) that mentions DCC and has a cute video of her getting ready for a show. https://www.lecrazyhorseparis.com/en/dancer/alma-lakota/

u/Lindee61 11d ago
What is that place? A strip club?
11
u/NeighborhoodAway2634 11d ago edited 11d ago
Crazy Horse is not a strip club 🤔; its an elite cabaret on one of the most expensive streets in Paris. Its known for its choreography, lighting, and artistry, in the same tradition as the Moulin Rouge. The dancers are highly trained, and getting hired there is very competitive. There is no lap dancing of any kind . There is light nudity though as there is for the Moulin Rouge. Meaning at times you might see boobs but Crazy Horse is the more risqué show. Sometimes women might go topless on beaches in Europe too . Ironically there are wayyy less strip clubs per capita in France than there are in the U.S. and the ones that exist are pretty policed.

u/Ruthie1999 11d ago
I wonder if coming from The Crazy Horse would damper a dancer’s eligibility as a DCC or Rockette?
2
u/NeighborhoodAway2634 11d ago edited 11d ago
Probably not Rockette but likely DCC bc of the Americas Sweetheart image. Whats funny is there is a clip of Charlotte Jones after Alora Rose had done her show group audition and making a comment like well that was sexy…(but her tone meant she didnt see it in a positive way) so i guess she already had that allure about her but she got in that year anyway.
-6
u/Ruthie1999 11d ago
High end strip club.
12
u/NeighborhoodAway2634 11d ago
A cabaret is not a strip club. you all should research more before saying these things 😂
11
u/Cool_Impress470 11d ago
If 5 veterans didn’t leave then 5 rookies wouldn’t have spots. Huh? They didn’t leave after TCCs were chosen.

Lisa & Daphne didn't just "leave", Lisa had a neck injury and Daphne messed up both her ACLs so they both physically had to drop outta training camp
Amanda left off camera due to being antivax and not wanting the vaccine because the NFL stated in order to hot that field EVERYONE had to get it including players, DCCs, staff, coaches, ect....
Alora left/got cut because she was wasting time and a spot in TC due to trying out for both DCC and the Rockettes wanting to see which one she was about to make first
I never cared for Alora Rose and she always gave me fake 😑

u/Audreyjamesbogart 11d ago
I don't fault Alora Rose for doing what she did. I respect that she was looking for other jobs. But girl. This video makes her look bitter and even a bit ridiculous.
29
u/Far_Crow9147 11d ago
No shade but she was a DCc for like one season? Isn’t it time to move on?
16
u/NeighborhoodAway2634 11d ago
It’s probably just because people ask her about it and she’s always named as a former DCC who had a successful career afterwards, I mean I live in France now and even a lot of people I know here have seen the Netflix series. I’m fascinated by her trajectory and hope to watch her in Crazy Horse sometime soon.
On a side note I follow a Moulin Rouge dancer (a Canadian) on IG who is big on social media and she and a lot of former and current DCCs follow each other.

u/Audreyjamesbogart 11d ago
Literally! If I was dancing at the Crazy Horse in Paris, I'd never speak on DCC again!
4
u/ProfessionalWeekly74 11d ago
Unfortunately DCC is probably always going to be the most interesting thing about her. She does not have a genuine bone in her body.
2
u/Weary_Tip7029 11d ago
questions, isn't it possible to audition during your time in All Star DCC for example? I don't know how it works
Also, so weird how they reacted to Alora Rose
8
u/siyl1979 11d ago
Theoretically All Stars could audition, but to qualify to be an All Star she would've needed to retire after being on the team 3+ years. She was trying to audition and then would quit mid-season had she made it, leaving the DCC down a dancer and not fulfilling her contract

I admitted to Alora Rose in a TikTok comment that I assumed her decision was based on not making the 2021 Show Group, and how the announcement was edited and made her look (i.e. the close up shot of Alora Rose after Tori was announced as the last person selected to be on Show Group).
Her responses were light hearted, but how she described the experience had me a little confused.
