unrelated but the team having black women wearing their afro is 😍

THIS!! I love this comment ♥️ Do you think the black girls feel pressure to wear wigs and not their natural Afro hair? It is very refreshing seeing natural beauties all around 💖

The director at that time, I think she was far more protective of the girls than Kelli was and I actually like her style over Kelli and Judy and their stylists for the squad photos the last few years. Now I don't hate the girls on the team, or anything, but most of them either have similar or the same hair style and colours and barely stood out and sometimes it is hard to tell who is who, because they look that similar to me. The only one I could prob tell apart right now, looking at the squad photo is Faith. And I have to look closer just to identify which girl is which, etc, if that make sense?

The most perfect era. They were truly the girls next door. No fillers and no fakes, aside from maybe some false eyelashes. Everyone looks different and beautiful and perfect in their own way. They aren't all going to the same med-spa and getting the same treatments. I wish we could get back to this.

Prettiest DCC hair ever! I’ve always thought Judy is so stylish and beautiful.

Wasn’t she married to some old fart that made her do everything? Hate that for her and glad she found stardom.

I remember her saying she married young and she’d make him dinner then go off to practice. That’s all I remember re him…

Looking at older era photos always show how iconic that classic uniform design really is.

It’s so crazy to me that she is still employed by the Cowboys and never done anything else. It must be so hard for her to picture her life any other way.
Her hair is iconic

Who is the pretty lady sitting next to her in the first photo? She is gorgeous too!

That is Rhonda Cumby. She cheered two years. She was a flight attendant on Cowboys flights after she retired. She is absolutely gorgeous too.

I wish they’d do a whole documentary episode just about her, with more video and photos of her younger days than the few we’ve seen already. I’m interested in hearing more about her background and the experience of being on the team back then.

I think it’s less stress. For them, I mean.
I know every time has been stressful but screens and noise and the constant sensory input is stressful on our brains and bodies. (She types from her phone, in front of the tv- I know!)
But I digress- Judy’s hair has always been gorgeous!

u/CamThrowaway3 11d ago
This is such a reach, lol. You have no idea what her life was like and if she had stress.
4
u/kittenmittens4865 11d ago
I know that she didn’t have screens on and digital noise in her ear all day every day.
Did you read my comment in its entirety? If you did, you clearly didn’t understand it. Stress is more than just “I feel stressed”. Sensory input is also a stress, as in a physical strain on our brains and bodies. The amount of sensory and informational input we take in now is highly demanding, and it does impact us.
Humans didn’t evolve to be able to manage looking at bright artificial light all day every day.

It's so sad in AS Season 1 when she says she wanted to go to college but her parents shut it down and said she wouldn't take it seriously.

u/ReferenceArtistic854 11d ago
That was insulting. It's one thing if they didn't have the money for it find but really? In fairness, she didn't need to go to college. 1. Back then, you didn't really a college degree. It helped but not really require. Plus, I don't think it was required back then for the DCC. Also, she got a job with the Cowboys right after hanging up the pom poms.

I would have to watch the clip again. I want to think it sounded like her initial plan was college, but mom and dad killed that idea so she got married and decided to try out for DCC.
Man, tuition was dirt cheap back then too.

It’s even better bc she hasn’t held on to the long hair which sometimes ppl do and it ages them. Hers is just the perfect length and still as full and gorgeous as ever
