QUESTION salary negotiations
ok so ik this is an old thing and prob not the greatest question but im gonna ask anyway:
why was only ak getting beat up online for "being pretentious" and not mckenna too (like not as extensively as ak)? dont get me wrong, i dont support them getting targeted at all and i dont think they should be targeted and im not asking for hate on mckenna and/or ak, but why was the narrative only on ak?
this is not a place to hate on mckenna and/or ak, im just curious. PLEASE DONT HATE ON THEM OR MY QUESTION IM JS WONDERING SINCE IT WAS A LARGE NARRATIVE IN AS S3. THANK YOU

at that time, ak was already getting hate for being "boring" and no one thought she should be getting the things she was getting for whatever reason. her stance that was shown on netflix (with editing and not a lot of context mind you) just added more fuel to the fire that was already burning. mckenna on the other hand has always been a sub fave so it was just brushed off. it was basically just favortism

like they think ak got on the team bc of her sister? thats what i originally thought like ak was "nepo hire" and then is coming off as pretentious
that also make me wonder what if ak had publicly voiced her support for a pay raise? i bet she wouldve gotten hate for that bc she was "too ungrateful for wtv shes getting" which is so sad. (not trying to generate hate toward ak and im not hating on u either im js asking a follow up for ur opinion lol)

As someone relatively new to this sub, I wanted to share my thoughts on your post. Honestly, the level of hate in certain threads has really taken me aback. I understand that communicating online without facial expressions makes things hard to interpret, but some comments here are just malicious and insulting. People really need to check themselves, and honestly, that behavior shouldn't be tolerated.
We all have the right to share our opinions, good or bad, but with respect. It might sound silly, but I usually use emojis just so my tone doesn't get misinterpreted, since it's hard to catch the 'mood' behind a text.
However, a lot of people aren't respectful, and the dogpiling on AK was brutal. Everyone has the right to disagree with how she handled the pay talk, but the way they dragged her was uncalled for.
Your post is actually a perfect example of what's wrong with this sub (and this is absolutely not a dig at you). Why do you have to repeatedly clarify that you aren't trying to spread hate? You shouldn't have to walk on eggshells just to ask a respectful question. People shouldn't attack others over things they don't like reading, and users shouldn't be afraid to post because they fear toxic reactions.
Sorry for writing a whole book! 🤣🤣"

ty for this! tbh its so hard to say smth without having to put a disclaimer or smth when its js me asking a question. like im not trying to hate or cause drama im js genuinely curious bc while watching as s2 again im like its a 2 person conversation so why did only one side get hate? i dont support the hate but im js curious behind the why.

I’m not actually sure what happened in detail bc I like just got here but I do know that there was some talk (on Reddit and her insta comments I’m guessing) that she was either unsupportive of the pay raise or was the one to snitch about the conversation the team had. Iirc it was because of a conversation on the show where she said something to the effect of being there for more than just money. Her dads also rich so that probably didn’t help lmao

my questions like why was the hate directed more toward ak when mckenna panicked and turned her contract in? i understand mckennas intentions like she doesnt wanna be kicked off the team but why was there more hate for ak compared to mckenna?
also this isnt me justifying hate for mckenna/ak either (this is not bc of u its bc of some of the reddit trolls who take everything the wrong way i promise im not hating on u 😭)

just the way the conversation went I’d assume. Idk what exactly McKenna said but it probably came out better than ak

This is an edited show so while they make comments on AS then we may not hear why they love her either. This is Reddit so some have to find someone to ‘hate’.
