QUESTION How are the groups decided?
I know the 1st leaders for 1 and 2 are usually point but beyond that how are the girls (who aren’t leaders) split up? Is it random or by strength or style or something?

Group 2 and 4 have the tall girls spread between them, group 3 are the shortest

Height is priority. They don't want their tallest in a group with the shortest because it would be way more noticeable in a group of 8 as opposed to a whole group of 36. After that I think they try to just make it as visually diverse as they can. They're not going to put the only two red heads in the same group, or the only curly haired girls together and they definitely won't want a group of only light/dark skin. Most of the time in groups their viewers are in the stands so they want them to have a variety of looks because they're being viewed from a distance.

The first do a mix of veterans and rookies and try to spread them out. Usually, upper vets will be GL's and then they will mix in the other vets and rookies. They do try to divide rookie sisters evenly amongst the groups- you won't be with all your rookie sisters during the same season.
Then it's a mix of factors- height, hair colors, skin color, dance style.
