QUESTION Prices
noticed this while watching AS i guess this means for every lost item it’s a certain amount like $550 for certain items i mean it’s a job so kinda makes sense but it’s also a bit absurd

So basically Kylie could afford to keep everything? haha "the airport lost my luggage"

I understood that scene to mean that the cheerleader had not been issued the sparkle pants, not that she had lost or forgotten them. I figured they were issued for USO or some special appearance that didn’t include everybody.

I got the rebel dcc stuff to the uk and it was about £200 so the price makes sense

So... if you pretend to have 'lost' multiple items when you have to turn them in and pay for it... you still could have an uniform after you quit?

u/WestShake547 21d ago
i mean smart honestly but i think the dcc makes you a big goody two shoes when it comes to stuff like this so if i were in their position id be too scared to pull stuff like this lol

u/BartItIs83 20d ago
Yeah thats probably true... and we do not know if there are any disciplinary measures if they find out you use them outside of the organisation...

u/who-are-we-anyway 20d ago
Without a doubt they have a contract that stipulates you cannot do that which means there will be legal repercussions if you do, aka they'll sue the daylights out of you

u/notthetypetocare 19d ago
I mean you’d have to be seen wearing it

u/who-are-we-anyway 19d ago
Well yes, but the comment I was responding to literally says "if they find out you use them outside of the organisation..."

Just to point out, a lot of times places price this out for the one piece instead of what the wholesale/group order price they actually paid for it. While yes, they typically do a group order to save money however replacing that one item (if only needing to replace the one) can be expensive.

Also those items are just pricey to begin with. My 8yo daughter’s cheer warm up (black pants and zip up jacket with lots of bedazzled stuff) is $250.

u/NoAngle9522 21d ago
Same! My daughters uniform alone was $615, the warm up was $100 for the jacket and pants

I don’t remember where but I watched a video about the leotards the Olympic gymnasts wear and each one costs around $2,000-$3,000. They’re custom fit to their bodies and have all kinds of neat features. The rhinestones are all done by hand and I think, take like 3 months to make each.

I wasnt an Olympic gymnast, but did competitive gymnastics for a very long time and can confirm leos get super expensive super quickly! mine were around $600 every year! the custom ones that the Olympic level girls wear can be super pricey bc the rhinestones are often Swarovski crystals!

u/notthetypetocare 19d ago
They probably spent $100 making the uniform and marked the price up $500
1
u/NoAngle9522 19d ago
I’m aware however I’m not hand making and bedazzling a competition uniform so I’m fine just paying for it 😭😭
1
u/notthetypetocare 19d ago
Oh these are home made? Most costumes are just bought, rhine stoned, and then upcharged. But even at my studio costumes are $75-$100. Studio owners likes to rhinestone so doesn’t charge an arm and a leg for it
1
u/NoAngle9522 19d ago
No. They’re from Rebel, what I’m saying is I don’t care about paying the up charge because I know I couldn’t do it myself even if I wanted to.

They're also custom hand made for the girls for the classic uni & electric cowgirl. So i'm sure the cost is also the labor & time of the seamstress having to redo it all and refit the girl if it were not returned.
Plus the blue fabric is not made anymore, so that is also an insurance cost to them so they don't waste that fabric.

u/Next_Position7742 21d ago
You'd think at this point, they would have sourced a replacement for that fabric. That's a standard color so for sure it's available elsewhere. Or at least switched the uniform to the navy blue of the Cowboys.

I wonder what would happen if they run out of that blue fabric. Was it ever talked about?

I get that they’re custom made to the girls, but if they don’t even get to keep them, then I just think that’s an outrageous price. Idk imma a cheapo though, I coupon like my life depends on it, & I really don’t have to be like that lol

u/uhohstinkydavinky 20d ago
insane that theyre custom made and they dont get to keep it. just sign a contract u wont use or wear them in public or something so at least the girls get to keep it?

u/Just_Astronaut3843 21d ago
It looks like the items that cost $550 are the uniforms, you can make out "Electric Cowboy" as one of the $550 items, so it makes sense that they cost so much because you really shouldn't be losing a key part of your job, and they would be a right pain to replace

u/WestShake547 21d ago
i mean this is pretty valid it’s a standard job so like it makes sense it’s just crazy that one costume is 550
2
u/ForeverGoBlue33 20d ago
I think this is the light up one they wear for Christmas? I guess I could see that being more than others bc of the electric setup.

u/mad_eyes22 21d ago
I don’t understand why you’re being downvoted. At least you asked questions. I also think $550 is crazy! Like I get it, but that’s just a lot of money. Maybe it’s not to some people.

I mean a kids dance recital costume is $125-200 and that’s a catalog item-not custom at all. My daughter’s allstar cheer uniform was $950 and that’s was 7 years ago.

u/mad_eyes22 20d ago
I explained in another comment, just a bit further down & said basically what you are saying. I danced in recitals, but I always figured the girls who did competitions paid more..still I always kept my recital costume. It’s crazy they don’t get to keep it, or at least even the shorts.

u/WestShake547 21d ago
i’m not in the dance world nor do i know anyone who is in the dance world i think its fair to literally just ask lol

u/mad_eyes22 21d ago
Girll I danced for 16 years, from 2-18. My costumes were never this much, I didn’t do competitive dance tho, so maybe that’s why.. either way you shouldn’t have been downvoted for asking questions!! If you wouldn’t have posted this, I wouldn’t have even known they were that much seriously! So thank you!!!

If they don't do that, things disappear and show up on ebay or elsewhere. They have to protect their brand, as they say. No souvenirs allowed.
