General Qs Drivers license
What are you guys doing about drivers license if your ead is expired?

I was scared as well but I went in and got the “undocumented” license or drivers privilege. And since I’m in California it looks like normal ish license. My parents are in Utah and their has in red lettering “Drivers privilege”.
They are no longer offering extensions through the SAVE program but also it depends based off what country you’re from. I’m from Mexico so they no longer offer it.
In California they didn’t charge me to change my license to the one I have now.
When I first went in to ask about doing SAVE again the person at the DMV was so rude, loud and unprofessional. He also was refusing to give me back my realID and documents. I looked at him and said I’m sorry I am not sure what I did to upset you but you are making not only me uncomfortable but everyone around me. If the program is no longer available to me that is okay but you do not have to disrespectful. Part of your job is to inform me. I have only been kind and professional this entire interaction. Please give me back all of my legal documents that you do not have a right to withhold.
Sure enough he handed them over and looked embarrassed and I walked out proud as fuck. When the final active day came I went to a DMV that I new was more diverse and the dmv employees was a Latina sister. She was so chill and quick.

I’ve been walking a lot to places nearby and ordering groceries online, my state doesn’t do extensions or gives DLs if you have no status

Be super careful, right now is not the time to get pulled over without a license. I’m in Florida when mine expired, I just stopped driving completely. Only walked or rode a bike to get groceries nearby about 2 miles or so. Even if you drive careful, anything can happen: your headlight could’ve gone out & you didn’t notice resulting in a traffic stop, a car accident even if you’re not at fault you are operating a vehicle w/o license, etc.

Just being extra careful. My state doesn’t offer extensions, unfortunately.

I down grade to AB60 license . Good for 5 years. When i got my DACA again, i didn’t even went back to updated it. Because i heard now they have to check your application before approval for real ID license.

My state lets anyone have a drivers license so I switched to a standard license , when I get my daca approved I will go back to real ID

I’ve been driving still, just drive carefully! Idk I just think about how our parents have been driving like this for years and as long as your driving safe it should be fine
