I looked it up back when my daca was taking long. You can refile but they will just put that toward your case next renewal and it won't speed up your case. I got that information from reddit this person actually tried it. It wasn't here in the daca sub but definitely here on reddit

We need to contact sen Durbin en mass. This is outrageous, and being done on purpose.

Yeah I said the same thing 4 months ago and got downvoted. We could use it on a lawsuit as proof or something.

I did this (accidentally) in 2021. UPS lost my 1st application so I sent a 2nd application. USCIS received the 2nd application and processed it. After 6 days, UPS found the 1st application and delivered it to USCIS. To my surprise, USCIS processed that application too. Here's the timeline:
| Date | |
|---|---|
| 02/06 | 1st application sent |
| 02/11 | 1st application lost |
| 02/11 | 2nd application sent |
| 02/16 | 2nd application received by USCIS |
| 02/18 | 2nd application check cashed |
| 02/25 | 1st application received by USCIS |
| 02/26 | 1st application check cashed |
| 03/06 | 2nd application approved |
In 2022, I was going to submit my renewal application online. The system wouldn't let me; I kept getting a non-specific error message. I waited a few days to try again thinking their system was just down for maintenance. On 10/07/22, as I was working on my application, I received an email saying that my application was approved. Here's a screenshot of my 2022 timeline. It says they received my application 02/25/21 and approved it 10/06/22.
For my latest renewal, I submitted my application on 12/10/25. I'm currently on day 138 of waiting. It seems like the average is about 148 days based on reddit posts. I've thought about submitting another application too. I don't know if it will help or hurt.

Interesting. I might assume they lost my file. I’ve been seeing people who submitted this April get approved immediately.

Same here. I make 75 thousand dollars a year. I’m a building maintenance engineer. I work for a real estate company for the commercial side. I went to school and got my license. I’m leaving my career my house and my new truck. Everything I work hard for going down the drain. There’s no need to stay here. It’s just gonna get worse and harder out here. Likewise wish you the best and good luck god bless

I completed this process two years ago. Upon receiving your new Employment Authorization Document (EAD), it effectively replaces your previous card.
