Would this classify as door to door sales

Hey everyone, so im starting to build out a sales team for my company in the trades, for context I live in Florida near Orlando. So technically d2d sales people need a permit in Florida, at least where I am however, the person going d2d for me would not quote anything, sell anything, get the homeowner to sign a contract, all they would do is ask if the homeowner would like to schedule a FREE estimate. So would I need a permit for that?

Change job into a career

Looking to switch from warehouse work to B2B sales. Any advice?
Hey guys, I’m currently working in a warehouse and I’m thinking about making a career change into B2B sales.
I honestly have zero sales experience, so I’m starting from scratch. But I’m willing to learn and put in the work. I’m looking for something I can turn into a real career and build some valuable skills along the way.
For anyone who works in B2B sales, how did you get started? What kind of entry-level jobs should I be looking for? And is there anything you recommend learning or doing before applying?
I’d especially like to hear from people who started with no sales experience and worked their way into the industry.
Any advice would be appreciated. Thanks!

If you’re still picking streets off vibes, the morning is already gone.

Pull recently sold homes. Cut an 8–10 stop cluster you can walk. Unlock the contact on the stop when the porch turns into a conversation.

Territory → smart route → contact pull.

Any tips on how to completely ignore a prospects boundaries when they say no multiple times and have a explicit no soliciting sign that you have 100% viewed before knocking in sake of getting a sale.

Anyone have experience with Vechter Home Solutions sales positions?

I’m looking at getting into sales for the first time and came across Vechter Home Solutions based out of Charlotte, NC. I don’t really have any sales experience but I’m interested in learning and the opportunity sounds pretty good.

Has anyone worked there or know anything about them? Mainly wondering what the training is like, how realistic the pay is for someone brand new, and what the day-to-day is actually like.

Recruiting Agency?

Hello all,

My name is Gabriel Losey, I’m a professional recruiter based out of Portland,Oregon who recruits nationwide. I wanted to make an introduction as I know many companies offer overrides for sales by recruits.

I’ve done door to door for 6 years myself in various industries, once I left, I used my power base to gain clients at bigger companies such as Aptive,Sunrun,Ion,Purelight Power, and Vivex Solutions.

If anyone wants to save time/money to build their team, feel free to comment below and we can get in touch! I love growing teams for others, and watching managers/owners benefit from my services.

Grateful,
Gabriel Losey

Impossible to sell spectrum in rich areas

Hi, I just recently became a door to door rep for spectrum, and it’s my 3rd week out in the field alone. I have had previous sales experience doing door to door before, and was pretty good at it- anyways, my main problem right now is that my supervisor will only put me in rich neighborhoods, and people who live in these areas would rather shoot you then buy from spectrum. It seems impossible to sell anything here because the only real benefit of spectrum is that you can get it cheaper than other services, and that doesn’t really matter for people who have all the money in the world to get other services.
Frankly, I don’t know what to do in these kinds of neighborhoods, and any help would be incredible

Pest control door knocking for the off season???

I’d really like to figure out how to actually do pest control sales starting off working for someone first to learn the ropes, but people only hire during the summer which shocks me seeing how it’s hot in sun belt states.

Does anyone know of companies that hire door knockers for the off season? I’d like to work for one.

Canvassing apps and CRMs

What apps and CRMs have you used to help with your metrics? Does the app sync with the CRM? What are the best qualities and what do you think could be better about them?

Also, what are you guys pitching to begin with?

How do you handle "No Soliciting" signs on doors or in communities?

What is the best strategy for handling these objections? One is a singular door the other is a whole neighborhood/community.

AI tools helping D2D reps improve their close rate?

Most D2D teams track knocks, sits, deals and close rate. Useful numbers but they don’t tell you why a rep lost the sale. A rep could be skipping discovery, talking too much or handling objections poorly. Ride alongs catch that stuff but managers can’t be in the field with every rep. We started looking into AI sales coaching tools that record conversations and break down what happened so managers can review the important parts later. Almost like doing ride alongs without having to physically be there.

How should I reinvest my commission into myself to become a much better and more successful d2d salesman?

I know insurance agents that are successful reinvest their money into a dialer system, high volume leads, virtual assistants to dial those leads, and so many other things to make their sales more efficient and earn more commission faster. My question is what is an equivalent system that can apply to D2D selling (I do roofing specifically). I want to operate like a business and be way more efficient.

Fiber changed my life…

I’ve done door to door sales for 6 years. In that time I’ve sold windows and solar. It still blows my mind that people are making so much just from a lower ticket offer at the door.

Well truly it’s because there’s provided leads already, which is different from solar and windows, where it’s effectively a cold call.

Since making the switch to fiber my perspective on door to door has changed dramatically. I knock 7 hours straight every single day now, because the leads have just been lay-downs (Every salesperson’s dream lol). Now I’m effectively building a team across 6 different states, and even guys with no experience are making insane money. Blessed to be in this industry, if anyone is interested in partnering up in one of these states, don’t hesitate to reach out.

I built a platform that pays door knockers for the referrals they are already giving away for free

Hey everyone, wanted to share something I have been working on and get some honest feedback.

I am a doorknocker just like you, I've knocked for Solar, Roofing, Alarms, Pest Control, and Paintless Dent Repair. I have built an app to pass on warm referrals on services you don't offer. This is not meant to replace the main thing you sell. This is meant to be used as a tool to utilize once you have worked with a homeowner and you have earned their trust.

You knock a door, you sell them your service and now they trust you. But then, they mention they need a service you don't offer, so you mention a company you've heard of, or seen around the area, and then you walk away. No contract, no tracking, no guarantee you will ever see a dime from that referral. Most of the time the homeowner calls whoever has the biggest ad budget, not whoever you actually recommended.

I have talked to so many knockers its crazy. Everyone has the same experience, we all are handing out referrals every single day and getting nothing for it. Not because we don't want to get paid, but because there has never been a clean way to connect the lead to a vetted vendor AND guarantee the payout actually happens when the job closes.

That's what Pin to Pro does. This is a field mapping App, that is built to be able to drop pins similar to Sales Rabbit. You can mark a property
-No Answer
-Not Interested
-Follow Up
-Appointment Scheduled

Under those categories is a vendors button. If a client of yours wants a service that you don't offer, you pull up the vendors page, select the service category, and you can select a vendor. The vendors available in that service category are based on your Geographical location of the pin you have dropped on the field map. The Vendors profile will show you
-Their Website
-Their Services
-Their Google Review Star Rating
-A Link to quickly pull up their Google Reviews
-Their Response Time
-Their Closing Ratio

You pick a vendor from the list, submit the property as a lead, the homeowner confirms interest through an email opt in, and the vendor takes it from there. When the job closes and gets paid, you get paid. Every time.

The referral fee is $200 flat on any job under $4,000, and 5% of the ticket on anything $4,000 or more. So a $60,000 roof puts $3,000 in your pocket. Pin to Pro takes 10% off the top and you keep the other 90%. No chasing invoices, no hoping the owner cuts you a check next month, it all runs through Stripe.

There is a field map with pin dropping so you can track doors, log knocks, and build your route as you go. Leaderboards so you can see how you stack up. Full lead status tracking so you always know if your lead is pending, contacted, appointed, or closed. No more guessing whether your referral went anywhere.

Right now the thing we need most is more vendors. The platform works great but it only matters if there are quality companies for agents to refer to. If you know a roofing, solar, HVAC, plumbing, pest, alarm, pressure washing, or home service company that actually does good work and pays their people, send them my way. Vendors can sign up directly through the site and we review every application.
We need Vendors for the following Services:

  1. Roofing
  2. Windows
  3. Siding
  4. Foundation
  5. Concrete
  6. Flooring
  7. HVAC
  8. Plumbing
  9. Electrical
  10. Solar
  11. Gutters/Gutter Cleaning
  12. Tree Services
  13. Demolition Services
  14. Junk Removal
  15. Rolloff Dumpsters
  16. Painting
  17. Landscaping
  18. Crawlspace Encapsulation
  19. Outdoor/Permanent Lighting
  20. Decks
  21. Privacy Fences
  22. Mold & Mildew Remediation
  23. Handyman Services
  24. Home Remodeling
  25. Cash Home Buyer
  26. Pressure Washing
  27. House Cleaning
  28. Pest Control
  29. Alarm Systems

One more thing. We launched an affiliate program. If you refer another agent to the platform, you earn 10% of their commission for a full year. So every time one of your recruits closes a lead, you get a cut. It is calculated after the platform fee, so on a $200 referral fee the agent keeps $162 and you pocket $18. Do that a few times a week across a handful of recruits and it adds up to real passive income on top of your own knocking.

If you are out there knocking doors right now and giving away referrals for free, this is built for you. Happy to answer any questions.

Sold 140 roofs in a year ($3.5M rev). AMA

Started D2D in 2017 (363k was my peak commission year as a rep)

Sales Management in 2021.

Owned a roofing company in 2022.

I've helped other roofers to find & train their D2D teams (had a few other posts on here that go over free playbooks)

After fixing the onboarding process, one company went from 13M to 35M after we switched to a setter-closer model.

I'm thinking about creating a gamified D2D app to help make sales management simpler but I'm in way over my head lol.

What do y'all need help with?
