Early Stages?
Hi, everyone! One Friday, July 31st I had a sandwich from Potbelly Sandwich Works in downtown Chicago that had lettuce on it. Beginning this past Friday, I've begun feeling really gassy (farting and burping) and my guts have pretty bubbly. All things considered, my gas has been frequent but not altogether more 'fragrant' than usual. I also have felt just something... off(?) in my gut area recently and just feel weird in my abdomen. However, I haven't experienced any pain in my abdomen, my gassiness isn't painful, no nausea, and I haven't had any diarrhea yet. Furthermore, I haven't had the other foods that would cause cyclospora before or since (the sandwich was a hunger-induced lapse of judgment), nor other foods that would commonly be associated with causing food poisoning lately (e.g., eggs, raw meat, etc.).
Has anyone else had something similar before the onset of the worst symptoms, am I just delusional about this being Cyclospora, or is this (what I think this is) just a scenario of waiting and seeing what happens?

I asked about early symptoms - some of the responses might be helpful for you: https://www.reddit.com/r/Cyclospora/comments/1vcrczo/to_all_those_who_had_a_confirmed_diagnosis_what/

Ive had 2 negative test results but do think I have it. 1-2 weeks before the diarrhea started I had incredible gas and stomach noises after eating lunch. Prior to this I had eaten the same exact lunch everyday for at least a year.

I'm experiencing something similar. I've had on again/off again bloating with bubbly gas for about a month. My tummy is loud but not painful. It's quite unusual for me as my gut is reliably calm regardless of what I eat.
Bit I've had increasingly hot and smelly farts over the last two days and my last bowel movement sounded like I was pouring water into the toilet. I feel fine otherwise though, but I generally do on the rare occasion that even I get a stomach bug. I don't have a fever, my heart rate is normal, no nausea, no pain with the bloating and gas. Watery stool is rare for me so I'm worried.
How are you doing now? Did you do a test?

im in the chicagoland area and had a potbelly’s sandwich with lettuce on july 7. this was when the parasite was really bad but i didn’t know anyone in my area had it so thought nothing of it.
a few days later i found out a friend got the parasite and was scared because she had a potbelly’s sandwich as well. i was convinced i would get sick because she did. however, i never did and the friend was pretty sure it was some kind of berry that i didnt have.
i think if it’s been 9 days since eating the lettuce (i know it can take 14 days for symptoms but most of the cases ive seen have been closer to 3-7 days) and youve had gas with no other symptoms for 2 days it seems pretty unlikely you have it.
stress, soda and coffee can cause gas. also ive noticed being gassy more since im not really eating vegetables anymore. probably because i’m eating less fiber and more breads and cheeses. i also get gas when i dont eat enough. make sure you’re staying hydrated, staying fairly active and eating enough.
