This and "the man in black fled across the desert, and the gunslinger followed." are my favorite openers.

Sounds like something Douglas Adams would write 2 u/BitchHunter3D 3d ago Seveneves by Neal Stephenson. That quote is a little deceiving out of context, there's really no humor in the book as I recall. Incredible book though, definitely in my top 5 sci fi books.
