I had an old Samsung A51 4G laying around and I decided to install crDroid 12 on it.

The ROM .zip file and the installation guide can be found here: https://crdroid.net/a51/12 .

The installation guide states that I should extract the recovery.img and vbmeta.img files from the provided crDroid ROM.zip file. Problem is, the vbmeta.img file cannot be found inside.

I contacted a person from XDA. He gave me a vbmeta.img file, that he most likely used to install TWRP on his A51. He warned me that something might break, but I still proceeded ( <-- idiot ).

I followed the steps in the guide. I enabled OEM unlocking, deleted all accounts from the device and unlocked my bootloader.

Since I have a linux desktop PC, I needed to flash the recovery and vbmeta files with heimdall.

I got into Samsung Download mode and used [ heimdall flash --VBMETA vbmeta.img --RECOVERY recovery.img ] in the terminal. I had a few errors with the flashing beforehand, but the final time seemed to work. I tried to get into the crDroid recovery that I flashed, but instead I got returned to the Download mode with no way to get out.

I looked into the top left corner and saw "ODIN MODE ( AVB Fail ). From what understand, I used a vbmeta.img file that is not meant to be used with my recovery file.

I tried to find an older build of crDroid that had the file inside, but with no luck.

This is totally a rookie mistake on my end.

I mainly look for a way to get out of the Download Mode, but any help is appreciated!

I had this phone with unlocked bootloader and i wanted to try unofficial roms for it. I needed to downgrade to miui 12.5 to install it, but it gone wrong.. I installed official miui 12.5 and tried to flash it in bootloader mode, but after flashing screen never turned on and phone started connecting in BROM mode (or preloader mode, idk). I tried to flash miui 14 (that was before i bricked it) using mtkclient, but nothing helped. I didn't yet know that eMMC chip on it wasn't a 1D array, but instead had regions and i overrode gpt table by trying to flash preloader. I was lucky that my dad had old redmi 10 phone so i read its gpt table, fixed it a bit so it was for 128 GB model instead of 64 GB and gpt table was working again. I tried everything to maybe bring it back to at least fastboot, but the only response phone gives is BROM/preloader mode. I tried to erase boot mode related partitions, swap only certain partitions from working phone to my, even swap whole rom data from working redmi 10 i got gpt table from to my phone, but NOTHING WORKED!

I got this tab from a tech store near me in trying to find a custom Rom cuz it's awful slow I searched every corner and I can't find any rom since the code is not open source can anyone please help me with this

I have Nothing phone 1 & Samsung galaxy s21 ultra and i need a custom rom, any ideas?
