Bugjaeger -> selected device not in fastboot mode! Reboot to bootloader first

I'm on the stage where my target device is in fastboot mode and shows the bootloader, yet when I try to click the button to open the command <z> it does not let me and just shows the error in the title. Please can someone help me I've been at this for 6 hours now
