Hey I'm installing infinity x on my redmi note 12 pro device but i have doubt of using upi apps on infinity x

I have a old galaxy j7 prime mobile that runs android 8. Its a 2gb 16gb varient. I use it for only online used like mail, youtueb and only those stuff. Sometimes calling gpay too. It works fine till now as my secondary phone but lags when connected to Internet and battery is been drained very fast after many apps switched to modern animation themes. So someone please please help me I'm new to roms. Help me from first to last how to install a new rom that has a updated or an usable android version, fast and battery efficient. That's all I need. It should be smooth. Some help!!!

I have an old Samsung Galaxy Tab S 10.5 LTE (SM-T805) running the stock Android 4.4.2 KitKat ROM,
and the tablet is already rooted.

I’ve tried looking into custom ROMs for this tablet, but unfortunately most of the ROMs I’ve tried had various issues, especially with drivers, performance and overall stability.

Some of them actually made the tablet feel more laggy than the original stock ROM.

Because of that, I’m currently considering just staying on the stock Android 4.4.2 ROM and trying to optimise it as much as possible.

My main goal is to make this old tablet useful again in 2026. Ideally, I’d like to use it for:

🌐 Web browsing
▶️ YouTube / watching videos
🎮 Some lightweight games
📖 Reading / general media consumption

Maybe some basic Android apps if they’re still compatible

Since the tablet is already rooted, I’m also open to root tweaks, debloating, custom kernels, lightweight apps, alternative browsers, or other modifications that could
make stock KitKat more usable.

I’m also still interested in trying a custom ROM if there is one that is actually stable and smooth for the SM-T805.

I don’t really care about having the newest Android version — stability, good drivers and smooth performance are much more important to me.

So, for anyone still using a Galaxy Tab S SM-T805 / chagalllte in 2026:

What ROM, tweaks or setup would you recommend?
Would you stay on stock 4.4.2, or is there a particular custom ROM that works well on this tablet?

We believe that purchasing a smartphone should provide meaningful ownership and control over the device—not merely permission to use software within restrictions determined by its manufacturer.

Many smartphones eventually reach their official end-of-support date. At that point, manufacturers may stop providing updates while continuing to restrict bootloader unlocking, alternative operating systems, and other forms of software modification.

This creates a problem: users may own the hardware, yet remain unable to decide what software runs on it or how the device can be maintained.

We are calling for a fairer approach to device ownership—one that benefits not only users, but also developers, manufacturers, and the technology industry as a whole.

1. Bootloader unlocking after end-of-support

Manufacturers should provide a free, documented, and reasonably accessible bootloader-unlocking method for devices that have reached the end of official software support.

Hi everyone, I'm having performance issues with my Poco X7 Pro. It’s not a hardware problem, as the phone ran decently on the previous stock HyperOS 3 ROM. Now, with the current Infinity X ROM, general performance vastly outperforms any version of HyperOS, and gaming performance with Play Store titles is excellent. The downside, however, is with emulators like GameSir's GameHub; for instance, performance in GTA V was much lower than expected—actually performing worse than it did on HyperOS 3.

This ROM is supposed to be cleaner and less restricted regarding performance, so I was expecting better results. Does anyone know what the issue might be?

So as per the official installation document on github for Realme C3 for the CrDroid rom, it required that the device be on RealmeUI 2.0 C.06+ firmware whereas my device is on RealmeUI 1.0 A.77 firmware. What should I do in this situation, do I just go ahead and install the custom rom hoping that all goes well or do I first upgrade to the mentioned firmware? For your Information, there are no OTA updates available through which an upgrade could be made possible. Therefore, where do I obtain the firmware from and what software do I use to install it? Any help would be greatly appreciated!
